[Team Discussion] Wolves - Page 4

Finished as runner-up in my first season in charge. Spent 85m in the summer and am not leading the division, halfway through, with the board offering me further ammunition to charge towards a title romp.

City were amazing last season and continue to chase my tail, but I should have enough this season.

First team looks like;

How on Earth did you manage to get an entirely new side to gel that quickly and finish 2nd? Really can't imagine a lot of the players listed there would want to come to Wolves during the first season, and there's no way in hell Morgan would give you around 85mill to spend!

Also, and slightly more importantly, why are you playing O'Hara at left back?! Some screen shots would be appreciated. I'm not buying this.

First season, I mainly used the core of the team already there, bar the additions of Burdisso, Jenssen and Quintero to the spine of the team.

My mid-season additions of Coleman, Albrighton and Diame didn't really pay off. Coleman was the best. Albrighton has been crap - no better than Jarvis. Diame arrived injured and didn't make an appearance.

Tom was my best signing. A free transfer from Litex. Jaager wasn't a bad one, either. Good back-up, but he pissed me off, so I told him he wouldn't make another appearance for the club. He didn't, Steau loaned him, and then I sold him for a couple of million in the summer. Great piece of business!

The end of the season was when I made most of my additions. Signing ter Stegen was an opportunity I couldn't miss. It's hard to replace the likes of Hennesey, so it had to be someone world class.

Shawcross, Mbiwa and Botia all added quality in defence, and I needed a RB, as Coleman and Romario didn't look great, so Debuchy was an ideal signing.

Looking at signing Theopile-Catherine for the LB spot. Ricardo Rodriguez is still a youth, so have been relying on O'Hara there. Tabanou might make a good addition there, as well, but he's too attack-minded, really. If I sign him, I'll probably use him as a winger.

Diame and Enoh aren't really holding the fort down in DM, so I'm continuing with Henry, most of all. His character and influence make him important. Sometimes use Jenssen there as a DLP.

Chantome and Granero were too classy additions in CM, I feel. Still looking for more from them, though. Paid a combined 8m for the pair of them, so if it doesn't work out, I'll make a profit.

Haven't really improved the wide areas. Hunt and Jarvis held the positions down well last season, but didn't amaze me. So signing Ait Fana and Tom both on frees made perfect business sense. Each look capable enough to continue there, but they aren't top, top quality, ie. CL standard.

In the striking department, Quintero saved me countless times last season. Similar to FM 11, he's a champ in the box (and out of it). Loaned Doyle as I could not sell him, and he was average. Vokes and Griffiths walked too. The latter of which I was quite disappointed with. He was unreal in FM 11!

Should improve there, if I want to keep going.

Okay as you can see I on the league comfortably (as expected) I set myself a target of beating the best points tally do which I also done (just about). Should have got more points in all honesty but still pleased to of beat it.

So to start of my adventure in the Premier League I have brought in Fernando for £130K, ABSOLUTE BARGAIN! Not got much further than that transfer wise I have 2 regens joining me though and one in January:

He cost me £1.6M but he looks worth that as he is now, hopefully he will only improve

How soon do you guys think any of them will be ready for first team ? Not sure whether to bring in a new RB or just let Holland develop. I'm looking to bring Shawcross in for around £10M as Stoke have been relegated.

I'm still in shock by this season in the end I finished 3RD in the Premier League after getting promotion from the Championship first season.

I think it was more to do with other top teams being poor this season, otherwise I would of probably finished around 7TH where I was expecting to finish after a good start to my season, I beat majority (if not all) the top teams at least once this season.

As you can see my stand out performers were Jarvis and Fletcher, pleased I rejected at £12M offer from Man Utd for Jarvis in January now.

I also won the Carling Cup this season.

Bring on the Champions League! Looking to buy a CB to Partner Shawcross then my defence should be sorted and a midfielder to replace O'Hara. In all honest need to strengthen most areas to compete in the Champions League Will see what kind of budget I get and will go from there.
