	I was watching the Everton vs United game last night and was inspired to take control of the Toffees because of the strong core they have to the team. It really is a solid foundation and with some shrewd signings Everton could become title challengers within a couple of seasons. Fellaini, Chaill, Rodwell, Baines and Jagielka are all quality players and form the nucleus of the team. Build around them with youngsters like Barkley and you should challenge for Europe in the first season. I sold Bilyaletdinov, Osman, Anichebe and Hibbert before bringing in Hinkel and Freidrich on free transfers, Vaclav Kadlec and Bernd Leno for ~7million each (funds raised by those sales and a budget adjustment) and I also got Julian Draxler, Yaya Sanogo and Mario Santana on loan. Leno is rated a 5 star prospect for keeper and will allow me to get rid of the unreliable Tim Howard when Leno arrives in January (he is on loan from Stuttgart to Leverkusen until then). Draxler is actually on what I would call a 12 month trial, if he performs I will praise him to try and make him interested in joining me permanently. Santana is a stop gap to fill in at AMR while Coleman is out and Sanogo is backup for Saha and Kadlec. I am playing a 4-2-3-1 formation at the moment: Howard Neville - Jagielka - Distin - Baines Rodwell - Fellaini Draxler - Cahill - Drenthe Saha Draxler is playing as an advanced playmaker on the right and doing a wonderful job. Drenthe uses his pace to good advantage as an attacking winger. Cahill plays as an inside forward, basically the way he does in real life as a deeper striker making late runs. Rodwell is a box to box midfielder while Fellaini breaks up play and dictates the tempo of the game. Neville is a defensive full back, while Baines is attacking. When Baines gets forward it is essentially 3 centerbacks waiting to foil any counter attacks. It is working well with a 5-1 drubbing of Arsenal being the highlight of the opening 5 matches of the season, along with a credible 0-0 draw with United at Goodison. Will let you know how I get on.

	Happy to see this discussion up, I'm playing a network game where I manage Everton along with my Unemployment Challenge file and it'll be interesting to both share my own and read other's opinions on the team. Me and friend always start our games without budgets, to keep it a bit more realistic (in our opinion). This means no real signings or departures as of yet, all though I did bring in Robert Pirés on a free though to add some emergency depth when hitting an early injury crisis. West Ham talent Dominic Vose has also been signed on a loan deal to give some back-up to the midfield. I've been using both a 4-4-1-1 and 4-4-2 but as of late mostly the later. Howard Neville Jagielka Heitinga Baines Coleman Rodwell Fellaini Drenthe Saha Cahill Hibbert started the season after a good pre-season and did well but was injured early. Distin has been rotating with Heitinga and both have done great. Osman started the season at the right but was injured as well but luckily Coleman just did his comeback with a solid performance. Saha is injury prone like few which means Denis has had some opportunities. Overall, I can't complain over the season. Wins over Stoke and Fulham was followed by draws versus Wolves and Wigan but lately, similar to Phelix, I had a fantastic 4-1 victory over Arsenal at home. -------------------

But want to know what certain transfer targets are like. So if u wouldn't mind either letting me know what there like and how difficult it is to sign them this year? 	Im having a good start 11 games in 6 wins 1 draw 4 loses. Man city an Man utd both 11 wins, 100% records. Im sitting 4th, and i only brought Giovani dos Santos from Spurs, hes a beast as poacher 10 league games 12 goals

	My Everton game is going well. Currently sitting comfortably in 4th place. Below are a few images of my team and tactics. Spoiler:Squad Spoiler:Tactics Spoiler:Instructions I have played a few matches since these were taken. Vaclav Kadlec is on fire, 9 goals in 8 matches. At the moment its half time in my home fixture against Villa and it is 4-0 with Kadlec scoring 1 and providing another. Draxler has provided 2. He is looking the goods at only 17 years of age too. Will keep you posted.

	Seem like you're doing well Phelix. I have played exactly half of the season and is doing well above what I was expecting, sitting third but it's a very tight race in the top. I just suffered my first loss in the league, a 3-1 defeat away at Old Trafford. My defence has been outstanding, with the latest defeat I have only conceded 9 goals from 19 league games. Hopefully I'll be able to keep the form up. I've signed right winger Réginal Goreux for free to provide some cover in January. Despite what my scouts says (2 stars) I believe he can do well, especially since he's so cheap and Everton's economy won't allow much spending. ultras87, Barkley been improving promising for me and has appeared in 10 EPL games this season. Can't get a screenshot up right now but will try later on. -------------------

	Im currently 6th in the league after 20 games, 5 behind Arsenal who is in 4th. Man City has been absolutely destroying everyone, they have 19 wins and 1 loss, and Man Utd is 7 pts behind them. Such a weird season with teams winning by huge margins ... But im still fighting for CL spot.. Will keep updating

	I have found on my game that with Rodwell and Fellaini in central midfield and both able to stay quite free of injury that Barkley was not getting very many matches, then in a game where my only right winger got injured I found Barkley was naturally decent on the right and played well there for me, I thought I would retrain him so he could play in CM and RAM and he managed it surprisingly quickly, Osman was getting steadily worse and Barkley took over as my first choice RAM for a while until I brought in Gabriele Torje on loan for a season until Barkley gains another star or 2 for current ability.

	I am currently in December, made the semi finals of the League Cup to book a meeting with Fulham. Barkley has impressed me too, though as mentioned Rodwell and Fellaini don't give him many opportunities as they are both supremely fit. Barkley mostly comes of the bench for me and is doing well. Stats are rocketing up. Draxler is fantastic for me, will try and get him permanently though I don't like my chances if he keeps performing like this. Kadlec is my number 1 striker, relegating the inconsistent Saha to the bench. Santana has been a revelation down the right and I will also look to secure his signature permanently also. Drenthe is solid, as is Gueye down the left and Jagielka has been a rock at the back. Freidrich is about to come off his suspension and should provide a great partner once he is fit. Distin and Heitinga have both been inconsistent and I will move one of them on at the end of the season and look for a young replacement.

Who have you been playing the wide positions? My season has fallen apart, I keep hitting the bar (as mentioned in another rant thread) and can't seem to win even though I dominate possession. I always end up conceding just before half time and have to fight my way back into the match.
