Kickstarter can be a real asset for smaller developers out there who'd prefer to answer to their fans, not publishers. So Ronimo Games is taking their quirky sci-fi MOBA Awesomenauts to Kickstarter, launching a crowdfunding for an expansion called Awesomenauts: Starstorm.
To create Awesomenauts: Starstorm, Ronimo has 29 days to raise $125,000 in funding. So far, the project has 413 backers who've donated a total of $23,814. If this keeps up, then they'll have their funding in no time.
As always, you'll find a tier of rewards based on how much you pledge. The highest pledger has given $1,000 or more, while the $5,000 and $10,000 tiers currently don't have any takers. The highest tier, limited to five people, does let you design your own skin, voice the skin, visit Ronimo, "get cake," and get everything else offered so far. We hope the cake is actually a thing.
The expansion, should it pan out, will throw in new characters, a Spectator mode, global chat, new music, and twin-stick controller support. Be sure to check out the Kickstarter page for more on Starstorm.
Recently, Ronimo also revealed that Awesomenauts would be heading to PS4.
