It almost wasn't even launched, but Awesomenauts powered on and is now kicking it Froggy G style. Over half a million games of Awesomenauts were played over the weekend, and Romino Games is hoping this is only the beginning.
In a communty address sent out today, the company reaffirmed its dedication to support and balance, and are hard at work on the first batch of new playable Awesomenauts. If you're wondering how the 2D side-scroller is doing with regards to balance, here's what we've heard:
"Our forums have exploded with new users all discussing the balance, and you can rest assured that we're listening to your feedback. So far the consensus appears that the game is already fairly well balanced, which is great. But of course a game like this is never perfect so we're looking into balance chances right now. We'd like to thank the community for all the help and feedback we've received so far! Everybody's been really nice and supportive towards us and towards newer players. We're expecting to post our first patch notes sometime next week."
There's also mention of some fixes in the works to help with connection issues players may be having. They recognize some gamers have routers set to Strict or Moderate NAT-settings, and are doing their best to make sure those settings mesh with their own.
In the mean time, make sure and check out the header image for a teaser of the first new Awesomenaut coming down the pipeline. She'll be the first lady on the roster, but with her floating skate board, electricity powers and her gorgon-like appearance she assuredly fit right in.
Check out our review of Awesomnauts, now available on both XBLA and PSN. Oh, and no mention yet of a readily available copy of the soundtrack. Damn the world!
