It's been near to a year since we heard any information related to Vanillaware's epic brawler Dragon's Crown. Luckily, Atlus is ramping up the PR campaign in Japan with a new trailer and more than a half-dozen new screenshots. They've also announce a release date for the PlayStation 3, PS Vita title -- July 25. As far as global or North American release date, however? Nada.
Dragon's Crown's latest media really capture the extremely high quality hand-drawn art of the title. While the characters themselves are exaggerated in all the best and worst ways, either extremely masculine or... err, feminine I suppose, they're all drawn with astounding detail. Look at the muscles on that dwarf. It's not natural and it's not right, I tell you. Still, it's hard to argue that Dragon's Crown looks like the best cooperative beat-em-up since, say, Castle Crashers -- though that's a comparison I wouldn't even want to begin to elaborate on.
Again, Dragon's Crown is planned for Japanese release on July 25 for the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. The last we heard from Atlus, the game was also planned for global and North American release in 2013, but considering how long it has been since we last heard anything official in that regard we best not make any assumptions. Still, wow, this game looks worth the wait.
