To say Ninja Gaiden 3 wasn't received very well on the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 might be quite the understatement. Team Ninja took a lot of the criticism to heart and made a solid update for the Wii U's launch in Ninja Gaiden 3: Razer's Edge. It only makes sense that they'd want to bring this iteration on the game back to the game's original platforms -- and so they are. Tecmo Koei announced that very thing today.
If you don't believe me, here's Team Ninja leader Yosuke Hayashi putting his money where his mouth is:
"Ninja Gaiden 3: Razer's Edge is the most action-packed and feature rich Ninja Gaiden game ever created. The brutal combat will challenge the hardest of hardcore Ninja Gaiden fans while also rewarding them with tons of bonus content and new features including three playable female characters, new stages, and three times as many Ninja Trial missions."
Featuring more playable characters each with their own skill sets, a Chapter Challenger gameplay mode and extensive online implementation. Did I mention DLC? All of the DLC. It's in there. I'm sure there's plenty of skins, both awkwardly creepy and badass, to choose from.
Scheduled for both digital and retail release on April 2, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razer's Edge should be the Ninja Gaiden 3 experience many fans of the franchise have really wanted for a long time now. Doesn't change the fact that it takes a special kind of person to like these games in the first place, but that's neither here nor there.
