The processor in it is already worse than that of Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 so if it's already outdated in certain areas by 8 year old consoles it will definitely be outdated when their successors are out. The processor being outdated will actually hurt the system a lot in the long term, as the system has a good graphics card but that will be wasted if the processor can't process the game data fast enough.

dragon zero, the consoles dint brick, nintendo took a precaution for that, when the update starts the console shifts onto an equivalent of windows safe mode, so even if you unplug it, it will simply store what you have downloaded and resume on the background the DL.
