At least the cord looks long. The USB cord that comes with the PS3 for recharging the controllers is short as hell.

I don't see why you'd have to stop, plugging it into an outlet should be just as convenient, if not more so, than plugging into the console itself. Most people have far greater choice location-wise with AC vs USB after all, we're all just ingrained to plugging controllers into consoles since the earliest days of gaming.

Though for myself I rarely have 5 uninterrupted hours of playtime in a row. I usually only play consoles games, really any games I guess, for around 2 hours in one sitting, then need to take a break and do something else. Pretty much the only thing that goes longer for me is the first stretch of a Pokemon game, which I've played several 7-8 hour sittings before.

Luckily I have a plug a right next to my gaming chair, so I may end up buying an extra AC adapter for the controller so I can have one there and one on my charging station next to the TV. I don't think I'll be patient enough the first day to fully charge the controller before play anyway.
