CEO Satoru Iwata said during a special Wii U webcast that the console will have a price tag of 31,500 yen ($405/£252) for a Premium model. 26,250 yen (£210/$338) is the price set for a basic model. The premium model is a 32GB Black Wii U that comes with a Wii U GamePad, a Wii U GamePad stylus, a Wii U GamePad charging stand, a Wii U GamePad playing stand, a Wii U stand, an HDMI cable, as well as AC adapters for the system and controller. Meanwhile, the basic model is a 8GB White Wii U with a GamePad and features the same components offered in the premium model except the Wii U GamePad charging stand, Wii U GamePad playing stand and Wii U stand. Another broadcast is scheduled for 3 PM UK time (within an hour), with a New York press event also taking place at the same time; it's expected that the European and US release date for the console and its price will be unveiled.
