I had a fair amount of trouble with those bits. I couldn't imagine twisting and moving forward and back and shaking during combat...

Skyward Sword was a punishing game. I once equated it to being slapped in the face repeatedly until you couldn't feel the sting. The motion controls leave something to be desired, but they give you extra life for that reason. Didn't feel they needed to change arrow aiming when it was fine in TP. Used the calibrate button a lot.

As I said, it's a punishing game. Brutal at times; the silent realm is just plain evil. All of it is doable though. I think the game was restricted by the Wii's hardware so everything is disjointed. Flying around the sky is possible but useless, as there's very little in it of worth. It's a good game if you're looking for a challenge; go into it expecting one.

...and as for all the comments about the Wii being for middle-age moms and children?
Well, you'll have to tell me if winter on the moon is as cold as it is here. :3

Stopped by the Walmart yesterday and pawed through the $5 DVD bin. Some decent stuff.

Wound up getting Alien, Clue, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Left behind one that had episodes of Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Lab, Courage, and Ed Edd & Eddy. Didn't buy because it didn't say anything about what episodes or how many.

Probably going to wind up getting Alien Colonial Marines when it comes out, even though I'm trying not to spend money. Got a nice stack of trade-in fodder and with any luck I might be able to find a decent coupon. Why is it that every time I tell myself I'm going to spend less money I wind up being assaulted with stuff I want? It's just not fair.

It strikes me once more just how much of a problem my chronic game abandonment is. I've finished maybe 15-20% of my games, and I've achieved 100% completion on exactly none.

Yet still I flock to the new releases shelf and the shininess gets to me.

I have terrible impulse control.

Utterly unrelated: Schindler's List made me just about start crying over the weekend. Liam Neeson can ACT. The scene toward the end as he's breaking down wishing he could have saved more people, that was powerful. The man saved 1100 people's lives yet his only thought was how he wished he could do more. On the other side of the morality spectrum, Ralph Fiennes played a fantastic Amon Goeth. It was the very end though, where all of the survivors and their families lined up to visit Schindler's grave, that really got to me. All of those stones, so many that his name was barely visible. Each one a way to thank the man without whom over a thousand people would have perished.
