so i found out that my 6 year old cousin found himself a pinkie pie toy...i shudder to think what sadistic things he will do to it.

Octavia is an extremely high-class pony, as you'd probably imagine. She speaks with class, elegance and grace, and she always has an air of sophistication around her wherever she goes. The common idea behind Octy is that she hardly speaks at all, preferring to remain silent unless she needs to speak. She doesn't make friends, she doesn't engage in conversation, and she doesn't talk about herself or her past. Octavia is very level-headed and intelligent, and can often be seen sighing at the incompetence of others.

Vinyl's not as set in stone, and fic writers tend to have fun with her. She's obviously more upbeat, always seems to be smiling, and just has that modern "punk/stylish" attitude and diction. She's almost always portrayed as a fan of dubstep, and isn't afraid to be loud and proud. She likes things to be exciting and certainly hates to be bored. She's also very headstrong and doesn't look before she leaps.

The reason these two are often featured together is that they're complete opposites, as can be seen above. This extends to their music as well; Vinyl hates "boring" classical music, and Octavia cannot stand loud, modern music.

With Alicorn Twilight, it really depends on what happens. If she just gets the form of an Alicorn, then the only thing to look out for is that she's not gonna know how to fly. She's gonna be clumsy.
But if she's given the mind/intelligence/"essence" of an Alicorn, then she can fly just fine. The problems there are the power overwhelming and overtaking her. She'll lose the essence of who she is, speak in a calm, God-like tone, etc...

Give some good thought to temporary vs. permanent. If she's going to be an alicorn permanently, get ready for a lot more hate than if it's only temporary.

well if the issue is not knowing how to get octavia to talk, try to think of how someone would talk if they arent much of a talker, but when it does come to talking, it is performed eloquently. if you have to introduce humor in to octavia, it would likely be sarcastic humor, perhaps a little on the dark side (very lightly though).

random event at work...as i was walking through the mechanics workshop, one of the mechanics were busy modding the differential on a customers car (if you dont know, the diff allows the wheels on the same axle to turn at different speeds, to prevent slipping during turns), so that the wheels would always remain locked (common practice for people who want to do drifting). so the differential block was removed, and placed on the ground. plenty of oil is found in these things, and it pooled at the bottom of the casing while the mechanic was working on it. no problem there. now, to link the wheels together, the inner gears must be welded together, so they always spin at the same speed as eachother. this is where you should start thinking something bad is going to happen. what happens when you weld? sparks fly, and tiny blobs of molten metal fly out. some of them ended up at the bottom of the diff block...where all the oil was. so we got ourselves a fire. no biggie though, this oil doesnt burn too easily, so because it was all contained in this small(ish) space, we could just blow it out afterwards. then the phone rang, the mechanic got up, accidentally kicked the casing, and all the oil flooded out. while on fire.

good thing we had fire extinguishers. otherwise we would have lost the welding machine as well.
