After a well earned promotion to the Premier League all the hard work starts again for Brian McDermott and his squad. McDermott has already signed Gareth McCleary on a free from Nottingham Forest and has been linked with numerous other players. However, McDermott said his squad needs to be "perfect" for them to survive relegation this coming season. Reading have recently been linked with audacious moves for Michael Ballack and Alessandro Del Piero after both players were released from their old teams. Reading will line up against three teams in pre-season to test their players ability and work rates so McDermott can assess which areas need improving.

I am very proud to be manager of this great football club. The club and fans deserve to be in the Premier League and i am delighted i managed to lead them there. I think it's going to be a very difficult season as we have a considerably lower transfer budget than others, but i have belief in my players to stay clear of relegation. I saw how the other day we were linked with Ballack and Del Peiro, they are world class players and i would love them to join our club but i think bigger teams will be in the hunt for them and we would probably lose out. We have a little belief we could snatch one of the two but it looks highly unlikely at this point. THE SEASIDE REVOLUTION

Cameron Elliott was named the Brighton manager for the 2012-2013 season. The Gulls had a high season last year and only narrowly missed out on the playoffs, in which West Ham won. Gus Poyet left to be the Assistant at Everton, so Brighton were on the market for a top-notch replacement. Cameron Elliott beat Gordon Strachan and Giovanni Trappatoni to the job, as he was smarter, cooler, and more quick witted than the rest. Cameron started with Buying Albert Adomah for £3 Million, the fans were overjoyed to hear that Cameron Elliott vowed a new era of success with the seagulls.



Freebies

Cameron Elliott scavenged around for the greatest free agents he could find, and found two key veterans, Sol Campbell and Robert Pires. These players are meant to come on Saturday 27th July, and Cameron Elliott claimed "These players will add a certain depth to the squad, and will mentor the youths in our squad. Both ex-Arsenal Players obviously know how to play their football, having played multiple seasons at a world-famous club like Arsenal". These were the very words said at a Press Conference on Thursday



A NEW SPONSORSHIP

Monarch Airways have signed a new 3-year deal to become an official partner with Brighton & Hove Albion, despite the fact they won't appear on the kit, they will invest quite a lot in the club. Chairman Iain Rawlinson said "We will put the money necessary into Brighton FC, they will be a great addition to our empire, and We will become a part of theirs. It is important we get on well we get on with their owner, Tony Bloom, in order for this to be a healthy and beneficial sponsorship.



A KEY FACTOR- THE OPENING DAY

Brighton have drawn a key fixture against The Foxes, Leicester City on the 16th Of August. Last time Brighton Played Leicester, they drew 1-1 with a Ritchie Wellens 23rd Minute Header, and 7 minutes later, Mackail-Smith Replied with a stunning Attempt. Leicester and Brighton have been known to cause a little trouble with the fans, so The Police will be barricading some stands. The Game will be played at 3PM at The Amex Stadium, which is a positive for Brighton- Will they win??

THE NEW KIT

A key factor in the Budget of a club is how many Kits they sell, if the kit is nicer, then they will sell more, and Brightons Home Kit goat voted third in the league behind Middlesborough and Barnsley. Of course, that is a huge achievement, and of course the kit will sell a lot. The Kit Promotion will take place tomorrow, and their away AND Third kit will be announced then. hopefully they will be just as nice as the first.

So we've pulled out the stops off the pitch, let's see if we can on the pitch this season, COME ON YOU SEAGULLS!

Great update and two good signings!

Brain McDermott has added bags of experience to his team ahead of the upcoming Premier League campaign. They have 276 caps between them in which they have scored 77 goals. Many Royals fans are looking forward to seeing these magnificent footballers at the Madjeski and many pundits are surprised they have joined. John Madjeski said he can spend more on these players as they don't have fees.

Craig Gordon - Free - The 28 year old keeper is a magnificent player but his career has been plagued by injury. He would most likely still be at Sunderland if it was not for these re-occuring injuries and McDermott was quick to get in contact and get a deal sorted.

Asier Del Horno - Free -The 30 year old is a very experienced defender who is nearing the end of his career but is still such a good player. He still has lots of pace for his age and reads the game superbly. He will be a major player on the right hand side.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy - Free - - Van Nistelrooy had recently said he wanted to join a new English club for a final challenge in his career. Many people were tipping him to join a team such as Liverpool but the forward joined Reading due to no other others available.

Adriano - Free - The biggest shock in my opinion. Brazilian striker Adriano was released due to only playing 4 games in a year due to a long term injury. He had been a free agent for a number of months and Reading have decided to take a gamble on an overweight striker with low fitness levels, taking that into account he only signed a one year deal.

Clarence Seedorf - Free - Another huge shock as many pundits still felt he had something to give. McDermott said that Seedorf will join up on a one year deal after Euro 2012 where he is working as a pundit. Seedorf said he would like to return to Holland in his final years as a player and will most likely do so after this coming season.

Marvin Wynne - £500k - The speedy defender was brought in just for his pace. McDermott felt his side could struggle against the faster opposition and Wynne is a player who can keep up with the faster players in the division.

Akos Buzsaky - Free - The Hungarian midfielder has been brought in as a partner at the side of Seedorf. He is a good midfielder with an eye for goal and is also very creative. McDermott tried to sign him last season but QPR were reluctant to let go of him.

Cristian Brocchi - £120k - The 35 year old Italian midfielder has been brought in as a rotation player, most likely for Clarence Seedorf. He is a very good defensive midfielder who could be used in a defensive role against teams such as Manchester United.

Reading have also transfer listed the following 10 players, all will leave the club this summer; Mills, Gunnarsson, Williams, Locke, D'Ath, Morrison, Andersen, Cummings, Howard, Mills.



I am delighted with our transfers. We have managed to bring in much needed quality to provide a step to build a very good squad on, also if Adriano can recapture his form from earlier of his career we have one of the best strikers available, and we are moving out the dead wood who we feel wont get much of a chance here. Up to now i am pretty sure they wont be any more transfers coming into the club as all i want to do now is get the squad sorted and push on into pre-season and the Premier League campaign ahead. - Brian McDermott (Reading manager)
