Following his step up into the first team, Italian youngster and U19 captain Andrea Romano, has had a sensational impact on the team. Andrea was born on 23,July 1993 making him only 18 years of age. He signed his first professional contract with Inter on 1,September 2011 and first made his first team debut against Fiorentina 2 weeks ago after replacing Yann M'Vila at half time.
He put in a solid performance and grabbed hisself an assist for the goal that won the game. He was also picked out by Skysports pundit, Jamie Redknapp as man of the match,

" The young lad who came on at half time was immense. How old is he? 18? He looked like hed played in that postion for years. He won the ball from Danielle De rossi of all people and played a sublime through ball to his mate Millito who scored the winner. His all round game looked perfect he always knew where he needed to be, he was composed in posession of the ball and stuck to his job of keeping quiet, Montolivo and De rossi. He looks to be a top player and was my pick of the bunch today."

His performance against the Viola did'nt go un noticed by his manager who started him in the holding role, in the next game away to Roma in the Coppa Nazzionale. This time round he had a reallity check , as he was booked inside 5 minutes after a hard challenge on Guberti. The subsequent free kick was scored by Rossi. This didnt seem to deter the young lad who continued to play his game with a real sense of maturity. Roma wer playing with a high line so most of the time the ball was in and around Romano, It was into the second half extra time when an attempt to win the ball from Boriello was deemed a foul and a second bookable offence. It was a shame for the young lad and an appeal against it was rejected but make no mistake Andrea Romano is a star of the future....

Best performance so far from the team and a well deserved victory. Belhanda was brilliant in the middle.

Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal (Podolski)
To be honest a very cagey and boring game. Newcastle hit the woodwork early on and after that nothing happened until Podolski turned in the box and curled a shot off the post and in on the stroke of half time to win it for the gunners.

Arsenal 0-1 Liverpool
Arsenal were made to regret missed chances as they lost a game which they dominated from the start. A Luis Suarez header was enough to win it for Liverpool.

Manchester United 3-3 Arsenal (Walcott(2), Bendtner)
What a game! Arsenal started very poorly as Kara passed the ball out of defence straight to Wayne Rooney who hit the bar only for Pato to slot it in to make it 1-0. Arsenal managed to equalise not long after as Walcott burst through the middle and fired home on his left foot. Just when they had got back into the game Arsenal conceded. Then Carrick netted a header to make it 3-1. The game looked over until Podolski was replaced by Bendtner who got onto a pass from Walcott before coming inside and scoring on his left foot. Bendtner then played in Walcott who slotted it past the onrushing De Gea and into the bottom corner late on.

All of this leaves Arsenal in 10th after a tough start to the league campaign.

League Cup

Leyton Orient 2-1 Arsenal (Miyaichi)
An awful display from Arsenals second team. They took the lead on the half hour mark as Miyaichi got on the end of a low cross about two yards out. Late in the second half Leyton Orient equalised and with full time fast approaching the referee decided to give a very harsh penalty. Arsenal's bad luck didn't end there though, as the penalty hit the post only to hit a helpless Fabianski on the back of the head and go in. Arsenal are out against all the odds.
