euro 2012 Euro 2012 game to be released as downloadable content

So EA have decided against releasing a full game and have gone down the dlc route. This obviously means it will be cheaper than if it was a full game, with the price £15.99 or 1800 MSP. The other issue at hand is that seeing as it's only dlc, it will still be using FIFA 12's engine, so it's still essentially FIFA 12 in gameplay. The expansion is set to be released April 24th

I'd have rather it had new (and better) gameplay and I would have prefered it on a disk to save many hours downloading. Even if it came out a month later or something.

Think I prefer that it's going to be DLC. Purely because there's no bullshit surrounding "is it the same game", least we know it's the same game with the relevant teams and game modes added. I'll definitely get it, if only to have a run through of it during the Euros.

I do like that the Euros/World Cup games would give us glimpses of what we could expect in future FIFA releases but it's no biggie. If this means they focus more time on improving FIFA and at almost a third of the price, I'm happy.

Thing is though, Euro 08 and WC 2010 were a lot better than the regular Fifas imo. The gameplay just felt better for some reason, and the graphics seemed a little different too. I enjoyed them a lot more.

On one hand im happy it's DLC because no, those gameplay tweaks arent worth £35-40 of course. But i'm disappointed it's going to be absolutely identical to FIFA 12 with no changes whatsoever.

Usually i'd say to my cousin "hey fancy a game of the new Euro 2012 game i just bought?" But now i'll be saying "fancy a game of FIFA 12 but in a different stadium?" Lol. Not the same.

Djedwardsmith Yeah Euro 08 was my fave of the lot probably. And i thought WC2010 was better than the others as well. Could never put my finger on why that was either.

I'm tempted to buy it and i probably will to give me something until the next fifa, because i would have bought a Euro game anyway. But i really can't see that being a good decision

Yeah, and i don't recall ever raging so much either, the last few years seem more scripted and rubbish

tbh the main thing for me on this years fifa has been ultimate team and that starts to get a bit meh when you have everything you want. Think i'll enjoy some Euro online over the summer if it's any good.
