The largest fighting game tournament of the year has already begun, but the best of EVO 2012 has yet to be seen. Today marks EVO's first of three days, featuring the full bracket of Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition on the main livestream, though the finals will be played on Sunday. The secondary stream will be be running tournament pool play for King of Fighters XIII and Soul Calibur V. Oh my, this is gonna be good.

That's not all, of course, as EVO is featuring a number of other games. The main stream will be filled with Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom action tomorrow, and the backup stream will feature Mortal Kombat 9 action. Sadly, there's just not enough streaming space for every game, as Street Fighter X Tekken, Tournament of Legends, Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, and a variety of other great games (Persona 4: Arena, BlazBlue Continuum Shift: Extend, Melty Blood, and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus) won't be found on the main streams, but if you're excited about those games they can be found on various supplementary sources.]

Everything culminates on Sunday, with 6 tournament finals spanning 10 hours of coverage. Even if you're not a huge fighting game fan, I'd recommend checking Sunday's coverage out just to support eSports and all these nerds who dedicate their lives to mastering their respective games.
