Which characters are not safe? - Page 4

I don't see any reason to keep Toon Lunk, as of right now, there are no upcoming Toon Zelda games, hes merely a copy of the original Link, hes kind of a waste of space out of the game's swordsmen where they could include other characters that use swords, I don't think they plan on adding any more toon characters when they could replace Toon Lunk with something different.

I'm thinking he might be replaced with either Tingle, Majora, or Ghirahim.

Majoras Mask Link could replace him too because it could include Zora and Goron two iconic races of Zelda.

Who knows maybe Elegy of Emptyness Link will replace Toon Link.

Ok, so maybe ToonLunk might stay in.

However all the other characters on that list are in danger.

Toon Link is definitely safe imo because of the Wind Waker remake.

Let's see if we can narrow this down a bit more. Let's debate on characters and vote whether they are safe or not. Let's start off with Toon Link.

Is he safe?

I don't think toon link is completely safe.
Sure there is Windwaker HD coming out,which increases his chances of returning,but in the end the fact that he is a second link remains,which is always a reason for him to not return,no matter how many games he gets(and he won't replace the regular link anyway)

Out of that list I think Lucas and Ice climbers are not safe.
Lucas may get out if they decide that one character is enough for the mother series,not to mention that lucas could be simply turned into an alternate costume for ness.

The ice climbers are not completely safe,since they have only one game,which is quite outdated.
It surprised me a little bit already that they returned in brawl,I thought they'd introduce a new retro character in every game,replacing the old one.
Basically the ice climbers are the least important character in the game,coming from an unknown franchise which consists of only one game,that is simply old,so it isn't that unlikely that they'll get kicked if they are in need for character spaces.

I was gonna give my thoughts on Fire Emblem representation but I'll just save for that when we get to Ike. But for now... Shiek's kind of weird for me. She's shares a slot with Zelda so actual roster menu space isn't an issue there. Sure they could easily make Zelda an actual down B move but transforming between the two (regardless of whether you actually did or not) is sort of her... special thing. And taking that away is just... I dunno.

It's really likely they'll model Zelda after her Skyward Sword appearance. They could just, once again, remodel Shiek to fit that style. They would have to do it for Ganondorf if they want to remain consistent, since he didn't appear in SS... Though I don't know that for sure since I barely scratched the surface on that game. So essentially redesigning two Zelda characters might be too much... I guess I could understand why they would cut her off then.

As for Toon Link! I love Wind Waker and the HD remake does help his chances but if you're not gonna make him actually stand out from the "default" Link in any substantial way... I wouldn't want him back then.

Tbh I don't see them taking Sheik out of the new Smash Brothers. I think she's safe.
