Fire Emblem Characters

marth not only appears in two games,but those games got remakes,so he actually appears in 4 games,not to mention that a masked marth appears in fire emblem 13,so he plays at least some kind of role in the game(regardless if that guy is an imposter or not).

Ike is also rather sure to remain,even though his chances are lower than marths.
Aside from marth he is the only chara who is a/the main character in two games(leaf from fe5 appears also in fe4,but not as a main character),fe13 also references him in a spotpass mission(who are more or less canon,since they are gratis and most connect to characters you've met before in the game),it gives us paris ikes descendant,who has really nothing to do with the actual plot and is simply thrown in as a reference to ike and to give ike a descendant,just like chrome is one of marth(it could also mean,that paris is the main character of the next fire emblem),as far as I know,no other main character aside from marth and ike are mentioned in the game(outside of dlc of course),not even alm whose continent even appears in the game.

The question is who could we add?
Since fire emblem has nearly always a completely different cast,so the criteria for fire emblem characters would be:
-how often does the character appear,since appearing in more than one game makes a character already special
-how much impact had the character/game on the whole series
-uniqueness of the character,I mean we've got already two sword fighters a third could be a little bit too much.
-could the character be used to advertise a game,after all this was the reason for roy in melee

So possible choices would be in my opinion:
-Anna,since she appears in nearly all fire emblems and she is recruitable in fe13,so that she is finally noticable in a game.
-lyn,first fire emblem character of the first fire emblem released outside japan
-sigurd,leaf,micaiah and roy also have a very slim chance to be included,sigurd simply because he is sakurais favourite fe-lord,roy because he is thanks to melee one of the most popular and it was his game,that revived the serires,micaiah simply for being unique and a magic user(something we don't have in the game) and leaf because he appears in two games even though he is only the main character in one of them.

On the villains side we have basically the enemies of ike and marth,the black knight,gharnef,medeus and hardin,but I doubt they'll give us an ike-releated character before a marth one(so that excludes the black knight) and gharnef and medeus don't look like possible characters and hardin seems not important enough for me....

Let's see I think they should,

Make Lyn playable

As for Roy, I doubt they will bring him back because Ike seems to be more iconic to the series, although it wouldn't hurt if Ike had a Roy alternative costume.

I totally forgot about Eliwood

Another cool outfit for Ike would be the evil king Ashnard, that would be cool.

Lyn could have alternate costumes to resemble Micaiah, Mia and Anna.

In Brawl I like to pretend Ike is Isaac when I use the one with the yellow cape

Even though ashnard is one of my favourite characters in the games I can't see ike getting an ashnard-costume.
They just look too different and ashnard uses a giant sword in combat,so it would look unfitting for him to have a sword,that is as "small" as ragnell(which is already a zweihänder)

What about characters like Michaiah or Hector? They were on a lot of lists before Brawl came out.

micaiah appears in only one game in which she has to share the role of the main character with ike(and ike is the dominant main character later in the game),the only thing that speaks for her is that she is a mage.
she was only in so many lists because she was the most recent main character aside from ike.

Hector is possibly the most unimportant lord in the history of fire emblem,as he has a really small role in fe7 aside from the hector mode.Hector was only in so many lists because he is rather popular in the west

How do we know they won't cut the Fire Emblem characters to one playable character?

If they did that, who would they put in?

Because Fire Emblem is a huge series. It's one of Nintendo's cash cows. I'd even go so far to say that that it's just as popular as Kirby if not more so.
