I think a third party character from NB is almost guaranteed.

That brings up an interesting question. Should third party companies be allowed to have assist trophies from series other than the ones represented with a character? For example, Sega would have Sonic as a character (representing the Sonic series) and NIGHTS as an AT (representing a completely different series). Not likely, but awesome if it happened.

Also that Pac-man stage sounds awesome!

It's almost a given that we could be seeing Pac-Man in the game and personally I don't mind it. He's one of those characters who fans have wanted to see face off against Mario for years and this would be their chance. Add in Sonic and we can get Mario vs. Sonic vs. Pac-Man.

Pac-Man Moveset in SSB4:

A: Pac-Man punches in the direction he is facing.
A^: Pac-Man curls up into a ball and jumps upwards, causing damage to those he hits.
Av: Not sure, maybe Pac-Man does some sort of spin thing and damages enemies with his feet?
A< & A>: Pac-Man charges up his punch by spinning his arm in a vertical circle and punches.
B: Pac-Man spits out a pellet.
B^: Either something like the charge jump, or Pac-Man follows a path of dots that appear in mid-air and are controlled by the control stick (like in Pac-Man World where there are floating dots and when you touch the first one, he follows the path).
Bv: Pac-Man does his Butt Bounce.
B< & B>: Pac-Man rolls into enemies.
Final Smash: Pac-Man eats a power pellet and the enemies turn into blue ghosts that have to run away from Pac-Man. Another idea: the stage could temporarily turn into the original Pac-Man stage and the enemies turn into 8-bit blue ghosts, and Pac-Man turns into his 8-bit self, and has to try to eat the ghosts. Once 10/15 seconds pass, the stage returns to normal and the enemies and Pac-Man return to normal as well.
Taunts could include Pac-Man's thumbs up and Pac-Man running in place.

Since I have never played Street Fighter X Tekken, I can't specifically say what moves Pac-Man had in there should be implemented into his SSB4 character, but I'm sure some of them would work better with Pac-Man and could replace some moves listed above.

I wouldn't mind at all if they decided to add in a Tales character. I know for a while back before Brawl was released, people wanted Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia in the game. He may be a bit out of date now unless Sakurai would want to bring him back or go with a new character in the Tales games from one of the most recent titles.

I think developing the game nearly guarantees a lot more than Pacman alone.

The development branch involved worked on Tekken- it would be highly likely Kazuya would be playable to represent this. We just saw Tekken faceoff against Street Fighter, in which Megaman and Pacman were both included.

Anyone remember Mario Kart playing with a ghost other than Boo? Or a Pacman with a hoohoo with the little prefix of Ms? Games where Nintendo teams up in large collaboration usually mean many-character spots for that developer's own creations.


Plus, Klonoa has been set to face off against Sonic for a long time.
This games was announced to be under NB RIGHT AFTER E3, whereupon it was given no mention while Play Station All Stars Battle Royale swept in. Nintendo has to be doing talks as to how to cover from that with SSB, and it would be interesting to see how far that door for third party characters swings- for both Nintendo and Sony.

Although maybe Guy Cecil, since he's such a fan-favorite. You do realize Snake was in the last game right?

Lili would be very cool, but last I checked Nina Williams was the main female Tekken character so they'd put Nina in before they would Lili.
Of course Jin and Kazuya (I call him Vegeta) are very good guesses, I like them both!
