I don't see how hard it would be to bring them back unless they are thinking of removing a few.

Any news from Sakurai is good news after the relative no show at E3 this year. Even if Reggie had simply mentioned/explained "Yeah they're hard at work on Smash Bros but we have nothing to show ya right now." it would have made a difference after Nintendoland.

I am not really sure if I understand him right.

Does he mean he wants to bring characters from old games into the new smash bros.similar to the ice climbers or does he mean he wants old smash bros.characters like roy back?

If it is the first case,I hope he doesn't overdo it,because there are already plenty of possibilities for new characters without retro-characters,but a few more retro characters would be ok(or characters that are important for a series,but don't appear in recent games,like saki amamiya from sin&punishment)

This quote is taken out of context. It comes from an interview regarding Kid Icarus and Sakurai's future plans. He was asked if he would try revitalizing other characters and franchises in new games in the future like what he did for Pit and Kid Icarus with Uprising, to which he replied that he would be doing that in a way in Smash Bros. with older characters.

So basically expect to continue to see things like Pit or Ice Climbers as characters, Little Mac as an assist trophy, etc., as Sakurai is all about the Nintendo history.

If Sakurai was doing his best then first of we would already have characters like Isaac, Lyn, Little Mac, Waluig all playabe characters, Ganondorf as sword character, no ToonLink, R.O.B. as an assist trophy, Louie as an assist trophy, Meta Knight an assist insted of Knuckle Joe, Ridley a playable character, no tripping like idiots,
Wario wouldn't fart, Zero Suit Samus could be chosen the same way they had Sheik set up,
Starfox characters use arwings intead of landmasters, Sonic would have a color scheme that resembled Shadow,
the Kid Icarus stage would have better music like the Dark Pit theme or the music that plays during the Hades fight, and the final boss Tabuu would be a unlocked playable character after you beat him the first time, come on you beat him for nothing except credits.

Oh, same here. I've been wanting to see Mega Man in an SSB for a while. Anyway, it's nice to hear about this.

Is Isaac from Golden Sun considered a old nintendo character?
Also if capcom is in on it could Ryu from Breath of Fire be put in?
