Pokemon Trainer

The glory of Pokemon trainer is that he represents the beloved first generation perfectly.

He is so incredibly because he is the most logical Pokemon character to be added, the one you control in all the main games, and never realize or really think to say he is the one you would control.

His value is nostalgic and reflective of the first generation and the Pokemon-iconic idea of the starter Pokemon. The starters from other generations are neither as famous/recognizable nor as historically powerful for Nintendo, and they as a whole are just other Pokemon. If we are going to go with the starters, we go with the STARTING starters. Having him switch to other Pokemon is ridiculous.
It is made even more absurd when you think that the starter Pokemon from other generations could not possibly be substituted in without the moves changing completely. SSB has yet to completely revamp a move-set, even when it was asked for by fans, and this would be a super strange way to do so.


....now he just needs a better Final Smash, like a super powerful Pokemon to come out as his final. If Mewtwo is not added in, this would be a great way for him to make a cameo! Going along with his representation of the first generation, Mewtwo was the original badass. This would pay his respects in the perfect way.

Ideally Id like to see them honor Meowth in a similar way to this, but I couldnt for the life of me figure out how.

I think that the Trainer could use starters from different generations instead from just one generation,but he shouldn't have more than 3 pokemon(because that would be too much) and he should have at least one Kanto starter(most likely charizard as it is the most iconic of them,but I would also accept bulbasaur,as it is the no 001 pokemon^^)

I also agree,that he needs a better final smash,I think it would rather upset the Mewtwo fans if he would use Mewtwo in his final smash,so I think it should be a different legendary,maybe Arceus with judgement or Rayquaza.

Even if he changes his Pokemon it wouldn't mean they would have to change all moves of the pokemon.
For example if you replace squirtle with totodile,you would need a new side-special-move and some regular attacks would need to be replaced(but they also made new regular attacks for falco,so that is no problem),you could leave the other two special attacks and many of the regular moves just like they are.

And the reason for replacing two of the original starters would be to include more generations,because people of different age grow up with different generations.
Sure the first generation is the most important,so he should keep at least one generation 1 starter.
And the fact that there were nearly only generation 1 pokemon in brawl may have been the reason why they cut Mewtwo.

What about texture swaps for Charizard, Ivysaur and Squirtle?

Charizards texture swaps would be Typhlosion, Blaziken, Infernape and Bacon

Ivysaurs would be Bayleef, Grovyle, Grotle and Servine

Squirtles would be Totodile, Mudkip, Piplup and Oshawott

It would just change the look of the character, not the moveset. So some moves would have to be renamed/replaced because the fire starters can't learn Fly, like Charizard and the water starters can't learn withdraw, like Squirtle. The hitboxes for some attacks stay the same, but with different animation.

It would be a really sweet idea if they could do a texture swap like that. It's probably possible to do on the Wii U version but I just couldn't see it with the 3DS version of the game. I could be wrong though.

I want a Pokemon Trainer for each generation, different movesets and all that. and switch up the type evolutions some. Like this:
Squirtle, Ivysaur, Charizard
Cyndaquil, Bayleef, Feraligatr
Treeko, Marshtomp, Blazekin (I know it's another fire 3rd evo, but he's just so awesome!)
Piplup, Monferno, Torterra
Tepig, Dewott, Serperior

Edit: Actually, switch Cyndaquil and Bayleef with Quilava and Chikorita.

And an alternate outfit for Tauros would be Bouffalant. Because Afros make everything better. In fact, every character should have an Afro-ed version of themself.
