Assist Trophies

Back in Brawl, we had Assist Trophies introduced to the series. Most of the Assist Trophies turned out to be good and well designed and useful at times. Others, were useless and left some of us hating the Assist Trophies. I'm looking at you Nintendog and Devil. That being said.

Would you like to see Assist Trophies return and if so, what would you like to see return/removed or added?

I hope that the Nintendogs make a reappearance

Moar Fire Emblem trophies. It'd be so amazing to see a Pegasus Knight Triple Attack trophy.

Some of the Assist Trophy characters wouldn't make good characters though. Nintendog or Devil or Andross wouldn't work as characters and are better off as Assist Trophies. While a fair chunk of the ATs would make good characters(Knuckles Joe, Samurai Goroh, Lyn), maybe this was Sakurai's way to test the waters with potential characters?

If so, I'd love to have them return.

I want an assist trophy for Knuckles if he's not playable, as well as the Koopalings.

I honestly can't see Knuckles not being a playable character. Sane with Tails.

Assuming that Sonic is still present in SSB4.

Honestly, would you rather have Knuckles and Tails or Megaman and Ryu? Id rather have more eclectic third party distribution than characters all from the same series. I grew up with playing Sonic on my genesis and dreamcast, I love the series to pieces, but I think everyone for some arbitrary reason wants the characters to overcrowd the roster.

EDIT: that being said, I would have no problem with those characters being assist trophies.

Well, I can't see him being playable either, but I just hope he is.

I'd assume that he returns. I don't think they'd just do a one shot deal with Sonic as a character.

At the same time, I can't really see Snake being in SSB4. It really seemed like a gimmick for Brawl.

However, if Snake does make it in, I'd love to see Raiden as a playable character.
