	Log in to remove this sponsored message im all for dlc if they make it for characters that got kicked out or were supposed to be in one of the games (dr. mario, roy, mewtwo, pichu, young link, dixie, toon zelda/ tetra, plusle & minun, and meowth). it would be awesome to individually buy them so whoever you want is included in your roster. this will not only appeal to hardcore gamers, but will give the game a more custom feeling, wanted by Sakurai. ------------------- Miju: Goin' Green

	I don't know about DLC. I think Smash wouldn't be the same, although people embrace the idea of DLC nowadays. Also there is that new feature of customizing your own characters or something of the sort on the 3DS version, which would feel a bit repetitive if there is DLC as well. You also have to think about the character roster, Brawl had 35 characters and this one will probably have more because of Nintendo's many characters and of the possibility of adding characters from other companies that are working on the project. I don't know about you, but too many characters is a bad thing. The metagame would change way too much and character guides would start to get crazy. 	I don't think Smash has ever been inclined towards the hyper competitive fighter scene, contrary to what some people pretend, so large character roster balancing isn't that big of a deal to the designers I'd wager. The biggest problems I see with DLC are these: 1. Its hard to have an online fighting game with DLC, since either everyone has to have info for all the characters already on disc but locked (on disc DLC) or everyone has to update their game to include those characters to play online. If not, you separate you player base into haves and have nots, which is stupid as well. 2. I hate the idea of paying for content that I feel should be in the game already. This is one that I probably wouldn't have to worry with coming from Nintendo, but I really hate the notion that DLC will be available soon after launch for people to pay extra money for. 3. Building DLC takes development resources away from new games. DLC may be great for prolonging gameplay, but for me personally I'd rather "prolong" gameplay because I really love playing a game, not because I bought some shiny new character. I'd much rather the development time and energy be spent on starting the next game for that developer so I can play something completely different if I want to. However, I like to keep it real, so there is a very good chance that Nintendo will include DLC in smash. If so, I would like to see it done in these far less stupid ways... 1. My idea from this post. Basically, use free DLC for characters, stages, etc. to advertise for new games as they come out. Its free so it doesn't screw up online play. 2. Focus DLC on the single player or local co-op modes. New maps for a revamped Adventure Mode/Subspace Emissary with new trophies and such as rewards, new challenges hitting daily, etc. ------------------- General Wii U \| General 3DS

	They're making DLC for New Super Mario Bros. 2 for 3DS. I can see that Nintendo is slowly starting with the whole DLC thing, and if they are doing it on the 3DS, then I can definitely see Nintendo allowing DLC on their games, especially one of their all-time top-selling franchises. ------------------- YouTube

	Instead of DLC, why not just do QR codes like in Mario Tennis Open, then you can have the content on the 3ds version, then if U wanted U can copy it to the WiiU version as well, nuff said about DLC BS.

	Although you have to admit Gotenks, Nintendo hasn't really brought out a new character in a while to the franchise has it? Most of it's revenue is from remade games or another addition to their already existing titles. ------------------- Don't beg for things. Do it yourself, or else you won't get anything.

If you mean a new franchise, then yeah, they haven't really made a new franchise since probably Pikmin/Animal Crossing. 	I think DLC is a good idea,but only if it doesn't become too expensive. It is also not that unlikely,seeing as the new fire emblem game has paid DLC,so nintendo isn't completely against DLC.
