I don't mean to be a spoilsport, but...

am I the only one disappointed with what we've seen so far? The game will probably be fun and all, don't get me wrong, but from reading interviews online previously I gathered that this game was going to be revolutionary. Unfortunately it hasn't gone that way. First of all, I really don't like the fixed-path, grid-based gameplay. That's so retro. I should point out right now that I did not like Super Mario Galaxy because of that. They already tried to amalgamate old and new with the DS and Wii Super Mario Bros. titles and to my mind it wasn't a winning recipe IMO. It simply didn't feel right. There was a lack of direction.

I kind of suspected having the developers of Super Mario Galaxy on board shattered any hopes for an open-world, dynamic game, but I would have thought there wouldn't be any issues with scale and particularly the visuals. The environments look stark and indistinct. They're missing that Nintendo magic at this early stage. The levels we've been shown look incomplete and I hope they're not indicative of what the final game will look like.

Crap! I thought this was the Super Mario 3DS forum lol. I'll move it tomorrow or a mod' could do that for me whenever, I don't mind
