I think the point brought up by CrystalLaser is really because Bungie got lazy and stopped matching teams up with teams. Admittedly going in alone and coming up against a team while playing alone can be infuriating, but that's not a fair reason to change how the game works in every case for every person. Regaining map control isn't really that hard, apart from sometimes in BTB but if you let it get to that point your team's going to lose anyway.

I'm really hoping that 343 sort out the mess that halo multiplayer became. I don't think adding any unpredictability to it is going to help, so this weapon spawn thing is going to SUCK just like bloom did (and now we're at a point in reach where no bloom is bad because the DMR is OP and bloom is bad because DMR duels can bve quite random. What would fix a lot of problems is the reintroduction of matching by teams, but more importantly the inclusion of a skill system. Having games match you up by skill means that if you do happen to come up against a team, your teammates can likely take them on with you, and even better these people that Axe mentioned in his post won't have to play against him, because clearly they'll be at a much higher skill level.

Oh and I'll add my two cents on something again that CrystalLaser said, about the other team in a btb game dominating the map because he just wants to have fun. When you're the person doing that and destroying people in a game, I think you'd find it's actually pretty fun too. In fact I find it a lot more fun to play with skill and beat people than to mess around with a plasma rifle riding a mongoose and getting dicked on.

Of course I know what it's about Axe I don't see what you're getting at. Just pointing out really that the people who keep beating you by having power weapons are actually using skill and being able to "sprint around the map picking up the best guns" is a by-product of that - something you continually seem not to realise.

But that's not really my point, overall I'm just against randomness in competitive games and I'm trying to say it takes away the need for skill, rather than supporting it, which seems to be what you were saying.

Yeah the ordnance thing doesn't sound too bad, I think it'll end up working out quite well really. But related to your post rather than the thread, we need good games by people matching up as teams with skill levels again for the best games. I enjoy it when I carry my team to victory, but I hate having to do it what feels like a large percentage of the time.
