I agree to an extent. Yeah, the way you just press buttons for the kill sequence is easy, and isn't a challlenge.

On the other hand, the halucinations and the crazy T.V. screens floating in the abyss were really cool. It was something new and completely different from other games.

If they would have kept the setting and hallucinations, but made the battle sequence more challenging, it would have been epic. Idk exactly how they could have done it, but I think I got my point across.

And to hit the main topic, I hope Vaas is still alive. It would sync with all of the crazy twists of the main story. The DLC idea is very smart, maybe some guy at Ubisoft will read this thread and *cough cough* come up with something

Vaas was too good of a character (one of the best imo) to kill off halfway through the story. There was so much hype and build up of Vaas' character before FC3 came out, which stumps me because in the end Hoyt is the big kahuna.

And if he is dead for good, damnit. I may hold a funeral.

CTTRchampion - That's some deep stuff man. I think when Jason sees himself as Vaas during the illusions, it's purely symbolism.

Jason slowly sinks into insanity and loses touch with his past.
This is basically what happened to Vaas, just in a different perspective.

Vaas used to be a Rakyat (or so we are led to believe) and we see how that turned out.
Now he's a psychopathic front-man in a human-trafficking operation.

Jason was a normal bro from California with a hot actress girlfriend and a close bond with his friends and family.
Now he's a confused blood-junkie who feels he belongs in the jungle, imagining killing as a game.

I don't think that Vaas is an illusion. I agree, he is very much alive in Jason's mind.
More figuratively than literally.

Vaas... ironically enough... is the definition of insanity.

No, he doesn't have any. Which is interesting.
When you and Lisa are captured and tied into chairs, Vaas says, "The first time I killed was for my sister."
I took that as he was asked to kill for some tribal initiation or something. I'm not entirely sure of course, but the dialogue hints towards him having some sort of affiliation.
Plus, if he doesn't care too much for his sister, or the tribe, why doesn't he just go in there and wipe them out?

Here's my thoughts on why Vaas said you would turn into him if you followed Citra.

Either Vaas anticipated that you were going to kill him, and ment you would end up dead like him.
Or.
Vaas knew that Citra would lead you down the path to madness. Which she did.

Your choice at the end decided whether you followed citra or not.
Throw away the madness, or embrace it.

Who really knows though. We can only assume the symbolism and truth.

Say you took the escape ending. Do you think Jason would see Vaas but it not be real. A hallucination without drugs and that he may try attack the hallucination. He says he still has all that anger inside of him at the end.

Well that could create a whole new idea.

Instead of Vaas being literally alive, he would just be alive in Jason's head.

He would see him, but noone else would. Maybe influence him to go through another adventure of some sort?

All these ideas that have come up in this thread are awesome. I need dlc now.

OK guys, the major points we are missing here are is the seconded blackout against Hoyt and the second major point I think you are all missing is past farcry games.

In past Farcry games you were actually able to transform into beasts and control them. This brings me to a point - The second blackout, right after Hoyt's body guards hold you down and cut your finger off. As soon as this happens, Jason blacks out and goes into a 1 on 1 fight with Hoyt. But what really happened here is Jason transformed into a beast/warrior/ect. and kills everyone (poss. eating Hoyt whole?), which explains Jason's confused reaction when waking up in the poker room to the flipped poker table and the dead guards throughout the room thrown against the Wall. I don't remember if you see Hoyt's body or not...but back to Vaas' death.

We do not see his body nor can I comfortably say that Jason was stabbed with a syringe, because didnt Vaas take the knife and somehow Jason gets it back after the fight? I believe he was stabbed with the mystical knife, which had some magical effect on both of them, but Vaas did the stabbing - thus being the one to enter into Jason, although there is a mental/spiritual battle, Jason comes out of top being the one in control. Vaas says in the battle "You and Me and I and You" "Nail me to the *bleep*ing cross, accept me into your heart, LET ME BE REBORN." I think that these words are the best evidence supporting my argument. We do not have any proof that Vaas is truly dead besides Citra's words. No body, no proof.

I feel that Jason absorbed Vaas into his body, the symbolic repeated knife stabbings and the eyes opening all have their own arguments as to this theory. Far fetched, I know, but remember the title of this game.

Jason would not be the warrior without Vaas, Vas is now half of Jason, even though it is not physical, but they are both stronger then ever. I do think we will be seeing some DLC that will have a better insight or at least prove me wrong, either way, We will be seeing more of Vaas, weather it be physically alive or visions or even Vaas taking over Jason's body completely - Players get to play as Vaas ( ? ) He is the best character in the whole game..for serious
