whether it's a patch, a simple line of text in a .ini file, or a 25 step mod, I'd really like to remove the armageddon clock for single player games. I'm hoping the solution is something as simple as changing a value to 9999 in notepad.

nevermind =) i figured it out myself. if anyone else wants to remove the nuke countdown just open microsoftgames\riseofnations\data\rules.xml with notepad, hit ctrl+f to bring up the search and search for 'armageddon'set the armageddon value for whatever you like, default is 4. i turned mine to 999

hey thanks for that i have thrones and patriots too, so i did both data\rules.xml files i havent played it to try yet but i had the same problem with not being able to save it and i figured out how to fix it.
right clik on rules.xml then go proerties and untick read only (some reason the data in thrones and patriots worked straight away)

i've got the gold edition but when i get 2 the information age i seem to get no armageddon countdown

ummm it wont work for me I tried to edit the rules.... but it wont work for my custom map.... how can i remove the armageddon...????

He told you how to do it and your screwing it up.
