Metro: Last Light has been out a few weeks now, and what a game it is. Aside from looking absolutely amazing, it's also, you know, kind of a scary experience. And what self-respecting game doesn't come with a whole series of planned DLC releases? As such, Deep Silver announced today several content packs on the way this summer.
So far, 4A Games has four packs in the works:
- Faction Pack + Chronicles Pack: New original single-player gameplay expanding on the Metro: Last Light universe and story.
- Tower Pack: A unique solo challenge to Metro veterans.
- Developer Pack: Gives creative players some tools to play around with.
Andrew Prokhorov, creative director at 4A Games, commented on the upcoming DLC, remarking on the continuation of the Metro story, even after Artyom's tale has ended (how well depends on how much of a jerk you were in the game).
“Artyom’s story may have been concluded in Metro: Last Light, but there are other characters with stories to tell, some familiar locations that fans of the Metro series wanted to revisit, and some new challenges that 4A wanted to explore. Since completing the game we have been working on these new stories and hope to release them throughout the summer.”
The first DLC, "Faction Pack," will be released some time in June 2013. If you pick up the Season Pass off Xbox LIVE, Steam, or PSN, then you'll be getting a small discount in a one-time fee of $15 (or 1200 MP).
In addition to a discount on the DLC, the Season Pass also gets you the Abzats, a semi-auto shotgun rifle.
