Tactics?!

Hopefully a lot of discussion can come from this. Just wondering if any of you have certain tactics you find yourself using regularly? Or combined with your teammates?

For example, on the Echo map. There's a few things myself and my team like to do. We usually try to get an outpost in the middle part of the map just past the bridge, up the hill slightly, along with a watchtower too. (Proximity mines on the hill directly above that one.) Unless they have a shield covering their whole base, you're gonna do very well sniping especially if you can defend the few enemies trying to invade.

Another great tactic which Djedwardsmith pointed out is this one. There are a lot of layers of hills and roads. If you go way out wide and up high into the hills, get an outpost there along with a corral and/or depot. (Some areas better than others, one we found was great) No one ever ventures up into these areas (certainly when there are no hawks in the match) and you're able to sneak right into their base under a gap in the pipes which surround their base. Quickly with hoverbike, or just beast it with a tank.

We combined this with another useful tactic which requires teamwork - we destroyed main things like their depot & beam turrets and built an arm in a decent place where we dropped into their base, which fixed our tanks if anyone attempted to destroy us. It's worth noting that I'm sure you can get healed by enemy arms if you step out of your vehicle!

Another easy but cheap tactic to get kills and terrorise the enemy base is to just drive around it mowing people down in your hoverbike. It's epic but I always feel dirty doing it as it pisses me off so much when enemies do it

Outposts not only aid your team massively, but you can also use them as a trap. Put one in an accessible area, and you'll get a load of enemies making it their #1 priority. They'll always aim to take it out. So, you and a teammate or two could easily use this as bait, and lure them into your trap. Obviously numerous ways of doing so - mines, turrets, hiding in a tank, or even waiting with rockets, etc.

There's loads more surely but that's enough from me for now, so come on, share your tactics! Doesn't have to be proper tactics like that, could be just your way of killing people in a 1 on 1 situation or dealing with an enemy in your own base or something for example.

Myself and LegendaryLegend have a pretty stunning tactic that's reaped rewards for us in TDM but I imagine it'd probably be more useful in objective modes.

I used to use the skill to gather rift quicker, and Jones used the rocket-on-spawn skill. However, we both decided to try and use the Bruiser skill (having seen it mentioned on here) and then proceeded to group up on jet bikes, speed into the enemy base and essentially wipe out any turrets or supply bunkers that we came across. In doing this we then allowed the tanks and jeeps following behind us to enter the enemy base and clear out any enemy that managed to kill us, meaning our team got a solid boost in kills, the enemy were unable to defend properly, and we got a healthy boost in exp for destroying them.

When you time your destruction well it can swing the game in your favour. There have been too many games where you've just got tanks shooting from inside their shield bubbles and not moving all game; myself and Jones snuck round the back in bikes, wiped out the two shields and then watched as our teammates pounded their tanks and turned the game towards us.

Played slightly differently last night - we had a game on one of the smaller variations of Dust (cant remember the names) And i patrolled the centre area around the crater on my hoverbike. The enemy team were always trying to bomb through the middle on their bikes to hit our base, or they were trying to flank us, obviously thinking they can go unnoticed if they bomb down the sides of the map behind the cliffs to get to the back of our base. So by patrolling that centre area with an RPG, i was able to see whatever enemies trying to get to our base, and i'd follow them until they were dead. One guy stopped before our base to prepare himself - i got him. One guy stopped when he arrived at our wall - i got him. One guy stopped in the middle of our base to get his RPG out, and he became an easy target as i pulled up 10 feet behind him with my RPG

Must've gone about 5-0 by doing that and it was just in the last couple of minutes. Thought of Gamesta100 's tips about destroying their bike sometimes too, whenever they got off it i blew it up, leaving them stranded and with no hope.

Also as i said in the other thread: mine locations are cracking spots to build an outpost if you're going to build one. Not only are mines good so your team will have an advantage, but Teammates love using them so you know you'll have plenty of support there and a strong mini base (if positioned well and relatively hidden/protected). As well as this, it becomes a perfect trap for stupid enemies who try to invade to get mines.
