help Defending Crosses

I finally got this for the 360 and I've been playing a few online games, losing quite a lot but I'm getting the hang of it. However the only thing I just can't cope with is crosses, especially when everyone goes Barca.

A lot of people just get the wall with Sanchez, sprint down the wing, I can't even catch them to block the cross and then when they do cross it Messi either beats Mertesacker in the air or my defenders for some crazy reason just walk off and leave the striker free.

I enjoy the game but this is really bugging me because everyone just sprints down the wing, they don't seem to have any creativity or imagination about them.

Have you tried using the Apply Pressure options when the balls coming in? I've found that to be pretty useful myself, and I've actually been surprised, and indeed impressed, at my teammates that I'm not controlling for actually doing a bit of proper defending without me helping them for once in their lives, haha! It's probably not foolproof, but it seems to help anyway.

Yeah holding RT (for Ps3 I guess it would be R2?) whilst keeping a reasonable distance from the opposition player and not diving in is my favourite method. They're going to beat you every now and again but holding RT seems to make your man more receptive to blocking the cross.

This helped a lot young Cashees! Thanks. Still can't win headers but I'm blocked 90% of crosses now.

Do any of you lot play online like a tournament or anything? I'm getting bored of having crappy connections with Mexicans, Chinese and Brazilians.

I'm just going to flip this thread on its head for a moment...Attacking Crosses...How do you do it? Haha! Now, I have scored a couple of headers from crosses, but when it comes to corners...I don't think I've had any where it's actually reached one of my players directly. Not sure if I need to be using the off the ball controls more there, or what?

I sometimes use off the ball to move my player towards to corner taker and then do a one two with him before crossing. Seems to have a higher success rate then crossing directly from the corner. Gotta be quick though or an opposition player gets ahead of yours and cuts out the pass.

This is by far the best thing to do I always do this and it works most of the time

Tested out the Off The Ball stuff a bit over the weekend. I can't believe I hadn't tried it out on set pieces before. I think the throw ins could be improved a bit though. I'm fed up of having the ball stolen from me as soon as it arrives at my player's feet, and I don't think it can just be me.

What I do with throw ins is either keep pressing A so they take it quickly or use off the ball to run away from the taker then run towards the taker and throw.
