I know im alone and wouldnt expect the industry to change for me, just had to get that out.

No you're not. Haven't you seen me post about wanting them to have stayed with/around WW2 on these forums? I don't even care if it's Infinity Ward who does it, I think another WW2 game would be good.

Call of Duty and Call of Duty 2 were probably the most realistic out of the rest (excluding the tutorial where the instructors say "press <key> to do <action>").

CoD4 was good.

By the way, the CoD: MW games are not part of the original series, it is its own spin-off series, same with Black Ops/Zombies series (W@W, BO1, BO2).

Yeah America had their own agenda with Japan etc sure, they did have an impact, but no way did they win the war for us. At the end of the day, it was us who defended our own country in the air with the Battle of Britain (although I am aware there was a handful of other nationalities flying for us too), and that was a vital point in the war, had the Germans won that, no doubt would they of been planning to attack us through sea and actually invade our country, if it wasn't for our success at North Africa, Greece and Italy then the Americans wouldn't of been able to assist in our invasion of Europe and don't even get me started on D-day lol. Of course, as you said, it was the Soviet Union and the Polish who ended it all with the invasion and capture of Berlin.

But seriously, how sweet would it be playing as the British Commandos going deep behind enemy lines at their naval bases sabotaging their submarines and going on a mission for that enigma machine. Shit would be sweeeeet.

IW/Treyarch, do it. Money right here maaaayynne.

To be honest, if Call of Duty was a realistic shooter I probably wouldn't enjoy it.

Then again, there's absolutely no shooter's I'd deem realistic.

I borrowed it from a friend and played it for about 10 minutes before giving up.

Firefights with enemies really far away that you can barely see, no superman sprinting, dying without warning... pretty realistic.

For me, I think Battlefield 3's campaign was one of the more realistic shooters with a balance between gameplay and realism without losing the immersion.
The FPS-isms (regenerating health, really fast movement, picking up ammo by touching it, etc) aside, along with the story itself (If you just play it as a series of missions instead of paying attention to the plot) things like the lingo, military jargon, character models, and sound effects were pretty much spot-on.

What's everything's thoughts on graphic realism through the cod series though? Do you think the guns look good? Scenery, other players, even player movements. The only thing that really comes to mind while I'm saying this is how god awful some of the guns from blops looked. M16, AK47, famas, spas. Don't get me wrong a few of the guns were spot on, some of them just looked like they through em in the game last minute.

And what also comes to mind is blowing people's limbs off with the double barrel on WaW.

Graphic realism in this game is poo.

If you were to suppress a shotgun or the Barrett M82A1, you would practically need a suppressor the same length as the weapon, not that suppressing a shotgun has any real use at all in a combat situation. Some guns in Black Ops don't even have rounds in the magazine when you reload them. Selector switches and ejector ports are on the wrong sides on some gun models across all games. The sight picture on the Galil in BO and the Uzi in MW2 (and I'm guessing in CoD4 as well) is wrong in the aid of making it easier to aim with the iron sights. I can't remember if it's the sights or the under barrel attachments, but putting them on the M16's and M4's removes the gas port block, effectively turning them into a single shot rifles. Belt fed LMG's get re-cocked after reloading, which isn't needed, same with reloading the SCAR-H in MW2, after the last round is fired, the character hits the bolt release, despite the bolt already being forward. The G18 in MW2 actually isn't one, it's just a full auto G17 and also in MW2, the suppressed MP5K in single player gets given the SD suffex in it's name despite the fact it doesn't have an integrated suppressor.

The list goes on. So yeah, not really realistic either.
