Modded / Rapid Fire Controllers - Your thoughts?

With the high rate of fire and low recoil of semi-automatic weapons such as the P99, Five-Seven, Dragunov, Striker (+ AA-12), RS-ASS and MK-14, I have seen an increasing number of people using their 20 dollar rapid-fire controllers to turn these average guns into absolute monsters. A P99 with a modded controller beats all SMG's close range, while snipers can fire 20 rounds from an RS-ASS into you before you can even aim down the sights.

We did see Black Ops implement a jamming feature that prevented the use of these modded controllers; however guns did have a tendency to jam for absolutely no apparent reason, causing me to grief greatly as to why my AUG stopped firing mid-way through a firefight, being unable to reload nor fire. Of course, MW3 has no system to stop people from firing at inhuman speeds...so if it is possible for a player to normally fire a P99 faster than a PP90 with Rapid Fire, you can.
Of course, no person can normally press the button as such speed while aiming at the enemy, so here we have a generation of CoD players who buy modded controllers from Ebay to give themselves an unfair advantage over everyone else.

Doing some quick Ebay research before posting this, I can see controllers advertised with all other sorts of modifications such as an auto-drop shot feature, rapid fire, 'quickscope mode' and so forth. Do you consider players who use controllers such as these as 'cheaters'? Do you perhaps use one yourself? One thing I have noticed is that every person I have called out for blatantly cheating with one (ya know, 20 RS-ASS rounds in half a second for example) has explicitly denied it, saying they weren't even using the gun in the first place! Of course, they use the gun again the next game...I just think that if you are blatantly going to cheat and make it extremely obvious to everyone else, man up and just admit it.

I played MW3 online for the first time in many, many months yesterday, and came across a large number of these RSASS and MK14 with modded controllers. It's complete and utter bullshit, and it is definitely cheating. Anyone willing to do such a thing (i.e. PAY money to get an unfair advantage) is a complete prick and should be shot.

That being said, it's nowhere near as bad as some of the BS in MW2.

I don't know, I'm kind of open-minded when it comes to this, but it's kind of the same thing as a good headset, is it not? At a high cost these people get an (unfair?) advantage over everyone else playing. I don't think it is fair, on the face of it, but what's the difference between using a Rapid Fire controller and using an Astro headset? If these people are willing to pay extra to benefit their game, more power to them. I just don't know why people think that the Rapid Fire controllers are a means of hacking or cheating, while a headset is all fair.

So every third party peripherals is rendered useless because someone may be cheating? I completely understand that it can give other players an edge, but you could just as easily buy a controller that does the same and at half the cost of an offical controller so it shouldn't even be an issue.

If you're using an outside source to help you gain an advantage over the enemy team, then yes, you are cheating.

As for me, I don't care. I don't ADS anyway. lol

No, because you're not doing anything to alter the in-game sound from the engine. With that being said, it's annoying as *bleep* getting killed by Dead Silence Pro try-hards sitting in a spot for a few seconds and instantly charging at you cos they heard you a mile away, hence why I'm going to be a *bleep* and get a headset myself, plus it saves me having to have a mic on charge all the time.

I hate seeing a suspicious killcam where some guy with a sniper rifle or pistol can shoot as fast or faster than an automatic gun. The problem with it is its not always easy to tell whether its a modded controller cause pistols are quite easy to shoot fast if u have a trigger finger and its the same for most snipers. I never trust killcams. They try to remake the kill rather than actually recording the kill and in doing so make kills look very dodgey.
