I'm not too sure if a product like you describe exists, but I'll talk about YouTube in general.

Don't waste your time and money if you don't have a good plan set out. If there's anyone on YouTube that you currently watch that you think does what your channel will be based on better than you, don't bother.

I.E. Tips and Tricks. Unless you can out-do TmarTn, etc. Your vids will go unwatched.

Falling under Tips and Tricks, people don't like to be taught things by people who are younger than they are.

Another example is beastly gameplay. Unless you're another Sandy Ravage, don't bother. Watching someone kill-whore in Drop Zone and go 50 and 2 with a silenced ACR doesn't interest me.


Which brings me to another point, age. Ever noticed how many of the big YTers are at least 20? It's because they have interesting things to say, interesting life experiences to talk about, and opinions sculpted through life experience.

Being blunt here, you have a matching pokemon sig and avatar, chances are you're around 15-16, if not younger.

I, and many other people don't watch people who are your age. People's opinion at your age means little to me, you haven't got any life experience. Any story you have to tell is likely to be boring, unless there's extraordinary circumstances.



As assholish as this seems, unless you have a concrete idea to stick out from the crowd, and life experience, your videos will just add to the saturation.


For example, I only watch two CoD YouTubers. ONLYUSEmeBLADE for commentary, and Sandy Ravage for gameplay.

Mia, yeah, unfortunately Sandy's content is far and in between. I think it makes it better though, because I know the content he does put out is content he himself enjoys making.

I was subbed to BlameTruth as well, he came back for a while with that IRL animal cult thing, and then moved to doing Gears gameplay. I dunno about now though, I think that YouTube glitch unsubbed me from him?



solidsykes. No worries at all man. I'm in the same boat, or rather, was in the same boat. I've been wanting to get into the game for a while now, a few years actually, but decided early on that I needed an idea to stick out from the crowd, and then came to realise I needed life experience as well.

At 20, I now have that idea, the life experience, and the capture device.


While walkthroughs of games that aren't as big might seem great, just remember it limits your audience. Games that aren't as big yet are a great place to start, however. I kick myself for dragging my feet and not starting my own channel sooner. I've been playing and recording Day Z since the mod was in it's infancy, and way before any of the big names, like SeaNanners or CaptainSparklez started recording it.

Granted, at 17, people are more likely to take you seriously, but your voice is a factor. If your voice has dropped, people will listen a lot more.

I'm a fan of hard rock, so Sandy's metal isn't much of a stretch.

Sandy won me over with his SPASTEX-130 vids. I'm a sucker for perfect SPAS reload-fires, what can I say?

MarkOfJ's a beast, and I've watched a few of his vids, but Sandy's my man and there aren't enough hours in the day at the moment.

Software? But in your post you seem to want a capture device. Most people suggest the HDPVR but I've heard it's outdated and overpriced. I've heard good things about Avermedia products

I've not had any problems with my Black Magic Intensity Pro.

It's internal though, and my PC is close to my PS3.

Sandy is really good, actually. He just like PUB games so he can get big killstreaks. I played some SnD with him on one of his livestreams back when MW2 was still popular. Shit was fun.
