I think it could of been something, but the game makers made it suck. In the other MWs it kicks A$$.

The AK47 was the first gun i got 2500 kills with. Its been the one Ive used for 3 prestiges, getting it to gold then putting it aside (until I relaized I only needed another 500 kills, then I used it non-stop.
Just silenced with kick or Silenced with extended mags worked for me, although it is a gun which can work with anything (except thermal).

Why not thermal? Aim down sight hold breath tap trigger a couple times aim at next enemy do the same.


I will admit its a pain in the ass to fire full auto with the thermal on the ak. But holding your breath and tapping the trigger makes the thing like a laser.

But it's completely worth it from a distance. But I see what your saying. In a game where hip fire is essential acogs thermals and scoped weapons are kind of worthless.. I had no problem with mastering the ak though.. Always been my favorite weapon in real life and in games.. The thing is a machine..



MW3 made the ak seem like a waste of life. It's pretty much the dragonov now, who uses it and y Is it still in the game.
its not worth it, the recoil makes the 2nd shot be flying away, and by that point your down unless they have a shotgun and you are at range.

Loved the AK. High damage, loads of kick, loads of fun. One of the few guns i regularly used with no proffieciences or attachments until i got 2. Masterkey and Extended mags.

The only AR's i do like are the Mk14, CM901 and AK47. In that order.

The rest lack any real advantage and are a bit average at everything. Bit boring.

The AK, CM901 and MK14 all do high damage per round. Its the way i have liked things since COD4. Loved the AK over the M4 and preferred the M60 to the SAW. Loved the TAR and L86 in MW2 and preffered the DP-28 over the other MGs in WAW.

I just cannot stand high acc low damage weapons. Its just the way I like things.

And i guess i said the others are a bit average because they are all so similair. Many see the weapons i mentioned as having a disadvantage in accuracy, (M14 aside) i guess i look at things the other way round and see them as having a big advantage in damage.

Loved the AK-47 in CoD4 and Black Ops for that matter. It was my second on the list for total gun kills in Black Ops.

It doesn't seem to do as well in MW3 though. Although I find putting kick on it with a silencer improves the weapons performance a fair bit. Its not fantastic, but nor is it horrendous once you slap kick on it which I feel is crucial for this gun.

One massive problem i have with the COD community is this new attitude that the only playstyle is to use a difficult weapon, perks the community deems acceptable, no explosives, specialist and out and out run'n'gun all day.

Imagine this game with no snipers, no shotgunners, no noobs, no campers, no varied streaks and no-one playing just for fun. Just pro's with subbies and assault rifles running about like headless chickens all day refusing to stop and think or plan anything out. It would be a complete mess. Like playtime at a bloody special needs school.

We need variety in playstyles, it keeps the game interesting. Thats why i try not to judge too much. (But we do all do it). Its also why i enjoy the new games less and less. Funnily enough we are given moe and more customisation yet community preassure and an elitist attitude enforces a strict set of perticular playstyles. Bollocks.

I'd wager most of these elitist folk dont even have the stats to back their shite up.

Yeah I agree somewhat with what you're saying, which is why I embrace quickscopers, shotgunners, and (most of) the support streak, but I simply can't embrace camping and the use of stealth perks like Assassin, they slow the game down too much overall. I know you hate to, but look at Black Ops, it was slowed to shit by Ghost, because unlike previous games there had been no disadvantage in stealth perks (stopping power was the best perk for that reason). I think that this game should embrace some playstyles, but discourage others for the least frustrating experience for all, and that means campers and noobs need to take a hike, their FMGs aren't welcome. Another reason I hate assassin is because my classes are complete bullshit put together to finish the challenges of the game (1939/2230 according to elite, getting close) and when people use assassin against my awful classes, I just can't keep up. i imagine this Assassin and MP7 hatred will fade once I get to using good guns again, but for now it pisses me to the max how much I am at a disadvantage. I allowed myself to use a good gun (G36C) for one game today. 25-2 on a terrible map on a not great connection, MP7 didn't bother me for once (because they didn't kill me lol, but there were guys using it) so eventually I'll handle it better. I feel like variety makes this game good, but too much variety in playstyles slows it down too much, Assassin being the main offender.
