If the music stops playing right before you get to the loading screen you're the host. If the screen goes black during host migration, you're the host. Other than that, IW patched the developer console command to change the bars from 4 to 10 a long time ago.

I do that quite often* and I still get killed easily, especially at long range. The thing is, that gun has a BEAST of a recoil after mid range. It's damn near impossible to kill someone unless they're not even paying attention to you at that point.

At close range, yes, it is a beast.... except that's the point of a SMG. To be awesome at close range, bearable at medium range, and shitty at long range.

* - Although I don't use Steady Aim Pro, I use SitRep Pro.

Why assume these things? I can rush and go super positive with my MP5 just the same as I can with staying back and killing everyone with my MK14.

I don't use any of those guns I listed. If I did it would be too easy for me, thus making the game less fun. Which is why everyone uses the easy button and goes with these weapons.

This is the moan thread so I'm just bitching about how this gun can outgun most of the other weapons and how it's overused as such.

The P90 and the MP7 are both easy contenders for it. The P90, in fact is a more controllable gun considering it has a lot less recoil than then PP90M1.

Both the PM-9 and the MP5 are just bad guns. The MP5 can be used, but you NEED to use Kick. Otherwise you're just making it difficult for yourself to do anything. The PM-9 is literally the WORST gun in the game.

You might love the MP5, but that doesn't stop it from being a sub par weapon in this game. It's outclassed because it's got shitty recoil at ALL ranges. Once you ADS, the sights will shoot you straight up once you start shooting.

.. and no, they did not patch the UMP45 in MW2. The only things I recall them patching were various glitches.
