Does clicking the stick to sprint hurt your thumb?

I've seen various threads about this on other forums. I've always found the way sprint was handled in Call of Duty to be horrible. I haven't played another game where you were supposed to click the stick while it's tilted. Some people say the tip of their thumb gets numb, but the way I hold the controller, the muscles in my thumb and even up my forearm start to get sore after a while. Makes running around everywhere tiresome (something I'm ashamed to say about a non-motion controller video game), especially since they took out unlimited running perks.

The other problem is that there's no way it can be good for the controller. I just had to quit using a controller I've been using since the 360's launch because the left click just stopped working.

I had an Evil controller (no rapid fire mods) with the face buttons mapped to to little buttons on the back. My brother and I re-soldered the wire to connect it to the TP spot for left stick click. I find it sad that I have to use a modded modded controller to make the game comfortable to play. Why won't they let you remap sprint?

On the issue: CoD's probably the reason my control is *bleep*ed.. Whilst playing CoD, sometimes it makes my dude jump, melee and switch weapon, or reload when i'm pressing in L3.. Somewhat annoying.

I do feel some irritation sometimes after sprinting for a bit, especially on a rushing class where you need to constantly sprint. I just let go for a minute or so and it's fine.

I think youre pressing a bit hard on your controller there, bud.

I play CoD only like once every two weeks, but I do 24hour gameseshes when I do, never found my hand even gets tired, let alone sore or numb. Just crack your knuckles once in awhile, cry me a river, then build a bridge and get the hell over it.

I think your sticks just tight or something... cause im double jointed too only in the right thumb

I'm pretty sure CoD has affected my thumbs permanently from pressing on the thumbsticks. Almost every time I bend my thumbs, the joints pop. It's been like this for over a year now.

It's not something you "notice". If you've never had any trouble with it, it probably just doesn't affect you.

Er, maybe you're doing something wrong? never happened to me or anyone I know.
