thermal scope on AR's

I've been working on mastering the AK47 recently. Mostly because I hardly ever see it being used. So I bought it this prestige to see why people aren't playing with it. So far I havnt quite figured out why, aside there being better choices in AR's(ACR, G36, scar) I love the AK.

AK47 shotgun and thermal
Stinger
SoH
Assassin
Marksman


And I might say the thermals are exceptionally good in this game. And being that I'm playing with the ak I thought it would be a problem with recoil, but since you can hold your breath with a thermal scope you can basically land 2 bullets to the head of your opponent without them ever even seeing you. I was very surprised in how well this class worked for me. Its my 2nd favorite class to use this prestige(under my AA12 class)..



Anyone else seen success with the thermal scope in MW3?

FAD + Thermal + kick= beast

It's great for finding people who try and blend in with terrain and are too lazy to use assassin.
Are thermal's worth using on snipers?

On HC mode I usually use this set up but with silencer (and two attachments proficiency)

Great accuracy for all distances.

No-one uses the AK because there's no reason to, this coming from a guy who has the gold camo for the AK.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the AK in CoD4, but there was a reason to use it. Since BlOps, the AK's been bad.

wait, are you saying that the ak was bad in blops? because if you are i would have to very strongly disagree. i had the most kills with that gun (over 2x any other gun in the game) and i found it to be more effective than the famas for me (its iron sides are so sexy )

no, i played cod 4 and mw2, just i switched over to the ps3 and i had to adjust to that. i skipped waw because my friend said it sucked, so i didnt have alot of experience with treyarch games.

i can safely say now that im pretty good at black ops (2.5 kd, 1.8 w/l without playing in a party)

i really just prefered the ak to the famas, it felt more stable and i prefered the iron sights so much more. i got most of my 600 blackbird and chopper gunners with it, while i only got maybe 10 with the famas. i switched over as soon as i unlocked it and never looked back.

The AK was bad in Black Ops, and it was my most used gun as well, just ahead of the L96 (Sniping took skill in Black Ops). If your first CoD game was Black Ops, then I see how you'd think it would be better. It killed in the same amount of bullets as the Famas, had a much slower fire-rate and it's recoil was more random.



The AK in CoD4 was where the AK was at the top of it's game. If you were good with the AK, you could mop the floor with both the MP5 and M16.

Looool. The Ak in Blops was one of the best guns. It isn't as good as the FAMAS in CQC, but I'd argue it's better in long range. It has predictable recoil, and kills in 3-4 bullets. It is one the best Assault Rifles, and the Assault Rifles are the best gun category by far.
