And I'm only a few days away from being able to actually play. I thought it was the Barrett REC7 in 6.8 SPC, not the ACR 6.8? That's what I heard anyways. -------------------

	Well, that's the round. I was talking about as to why the weapon is called the "ACR 6.8" in-game. I just assumed it was because it's supposed to be firing the new 6.8mm round. Sort of like why the M82 is just called the generic "Barret .50 cal" in-game. quote ThornSnyder ... Among telling me the ACR was way less accurate in real life... EDIT:: HU1CH13, I actually read your comment this time, and yes, I think the REC7 is one of the rifles that is being fielded, but there are multiple weapons competing to be the M4's replacement. Plus, the 6.8 hasn't been decided as to if it's completly replacing the 5.56. From what I was reading, they may be keeping the 5.56 for rifles, but upgrading the M249 SAW to fire 6.8. ------------------- I'm the guy that consistently goes negative. You don't need to remind me.

I know a few use AKS-74u's, so I thought maybe they would be starting to use the AK-74 seeing as it has the same lighter and I'm guessing more controllable round? -------------------

A real Glock 18 will have a selector switch on the left of the slide, where as a Glock 17 converted to fully auto won't. I mean in game. I guess one could just go into theatre mode and zoom in on it.

The Glock 18 in MW3, as you can see, it has a selector on the left side of the slide, even though the notch is pointing the wrong way. The 'Glock 18' in MW2, as you can see, no selector switch meaning it's just a normal Glock 17 that has been converted. -------------------

	I wouldn't go that far like, I just have a fair few mates in the army and who are in the know, combine that with the internet and a bit of spare time you would be suprised at how much info you can pick up about anything. I might know what guns are in games etc but I haven't shot a weapon in my life, I couldn't say yeah the ACR 6.8 shoots better than the SCAR-H or whatever or talk about the real nitty gritty in terms of bullet grain etc I just know the basics lol -------------------

I think your Special Forces are being fielded 416s. I actually did a few snach n' grab missions with SAS, and some of them had them. The reason the military wants to go with 5.56 is wieght. A combat load for a soldier is 210 rounds, and you're wearing 60 lbs of body armor on top of that. Not to mention whatever you're carrying on your back. And 5.56 works, it's just a matter of stopping power. I've seen Taliban shot multiple times with 5.56, and it not phase them until they just bleed out, while 7.62 stops them in thier tracks. However, I never felt "underpowered" with 5.56. I dropped a fair few from 400m+ with it. And as far as AKs, I couldn't really tell you. I'm not too big an expert on AKs. For the most part, it was AK-47s, or some 7.62 varient, or knockoffs like the Chinese Type 56. I didn't see any AKS-74us, I know. They also used a fair amount of RPKs. We only found one Draganov. Thier "sniper" was using something that shot 5.56 (we had 3 people shot with 5.56). We're pretty sure it was a stolen ANA M16. And RPGs, but not the RPG-7. Anyways, you do realise that you can find a lot of this stuff yourself by just Googling? The ACR started out as the Magpul Masada, Bushmaster then joined in with some licensing deal thing and would take over selling rights and further production of it. It stands for the Adaptive Combat Rifle as it can be stripped down and rebuilt with a variety of lower and upper recievers, buttstocks and barrels from other AR's, and I think it can even accept AK-47 magazines, Remington now produce the military aspects of it. The SCAR-L stands for Special Operations Forces Combat Assault Rifle, the L standing for Light, and the SCAR-H variant standing for Heavy, basically one has a bigger barrel than the other and fires a bigger cartridge. The MK46 in this game is actually an M249 Para SAW, SAW standing for Squad Automatic Weapon. The MP5 stands for Machine Pistol Model 5, the UMP being the direct successor to it and not the MP7, so I'm guessing the UMP could be classed as the MP6 too. The MP9 has no relation what so ever with H&K's MP series of fire arms. The UMP stands for Universal Machine Pistol. The USP stands for Universal Self-loading Pistol. The Magpul FMG-9 obviously stands for Folding Machine Gun 9mm. The L86 LSW stands for Light Support Weapon. The Barrett M82 was designed in 1982. Most of the 12's in the names of shotguns derive from the fact their caliber is 12 gauge. The AA-12 stands for Atchisson Assault - 12 Gauge The SPAS-12 stands for Sporting Purpose Automatic Shotgun - 12 Gauge The FN Five-seven gets it's name from it's 5.7mm cartridge. I'm guessing the KSG-12 stands for Kel-Tec Shotgun - 12 Gauge, Kel-Tec being the manufacturer. The AK-47 stands for Avtomat Kalashnikova, which in English roughly translates to 'The Kalashnikov Rifle' and was designed in 1947, the AK-74 was designed in 1974. I know what it stands for. All I did was save the hastle of people needing to translate it from German to English. Nice try though, very cute.
