	quote member6975 Way to go Valve! EA is just looking to take the rewards that you achieved. Valve is managed my managers that know what they are managing and love what they do. Valve don't really have that manager complex and have no actual bosses... Gabe (who is probably the closest Valve has to an owner and boss) sees himself as just another employee. EA would change that, and make the company hell to work for.

	I think the biggest issue companies like EA have in convincing Valve to sell is Valve don't really care about money. In the head mounted display reveal they stated all their research and design is freely open to any company wanting it, they are essentially handing over possible billion dollar ideas for free. When you have a company this disinterested in money EA could have offered $50 billion and Valve probably wouldn't have accepted it.

	Oh it is worth value in sentiment and whatnot. Just thought it was a reference to their stock in which case nope. To any company, buying steam right now would be a massive leap for their footprint in the digital space but it's not going to happen. They've always given off that vibe before and now it's there is writing that they have pretty much 0 chance. -------------------

	Yet.. Valve don't need to release sequels every year, they don't need to do anything that is now the norm as what they do works for them. Yes we would all love Half-Life 3, but I still prefer their method to the way the industry is going where every game gets an annual sequel whether it needs one or not. If Half-Life was an EA or Activision franchise it would be nearing Half-Life 14 by now, but what Valve have done is create something that will live on. In 10-15 years we won't be looking forward to Half-Life 8 we will be looking forward to Half-Life 4. I like that, Valve have the resolve to not give in to fan pressure. What I do know is that Valve will make a game with a 3 in it one day, maybe in the near future, maybe not. Though when it happens it will yet again be seen as a milestone in gaming as Valve don't operate any other way.
