It's... ALIVE! ... and about time too. Popcap's quirky Plants vs. Zombies tower defense game was released in late spring of 2009, and the wait since has been excruciating. Today's the day, though, as Popcap has announced the upcoming release of Plants vs. Zombies 2. As any proper green-thumb would tell you, however, spring is the season of growth -- the sequel's tentative release date is set for, "late spring." Expect early May, in my educated opinion.
Popcap is promising more of everything you love from the original Plants vs. Zombies, in addition to "new features, settings and situations." Don't take our word for it though, listen to this excited, and entirely anonymous, young gentleman's thoughts:
crullest curlieungood time, and plantz grow dull roots. So, we are meating you for brainz at yore house. No worry to skedule schedlueplan… we're freee anytime. We'll find you.”
Well now, that was rather rude and unprovoked; perhaps he's foreign. Oh dear, this adorable plant has something to say in response:
"There was a time we relished a bracing, hearty blend of zombies, in the morning. But first, a brisk shower and some strategic pruning are required. Tomorrow is near!"
The original Plants vs. Zombies was initially released on PC/Mac, but in the years since has come to consoles, handhelds and virtually all mobile app stores. Expect no worse of an arrangement with Plants vs. Zombies 2; if anything they'll try and release consequently across more platforms at launch. We won't get our hopes up, though. Expect more Plants vs. Zombies news soon.
Until then, rock out to the classic PvZ sunflower song!
