Variety is nice.

I really liked L4D, played it a lot. Only really stopped when all anybody did was Versus mode, since all that mode does is anger me...a lot.

Mishtram, what Azn said basically, but also I've been EA free for a while, besides BF3 and ME3, which were the "final straw" with them to me. Ever since, haven't gone near. No DLC, no nothing. When I saw BF4 announcements, I just used that as a chance to remember all the FPS games I already have that I need to play, like Spec Ops.

EA is certainly large, and runs many, many games. But I've actually found it easier than expected to dodge their stuff. Same goes for Activision, who I also don't buy anything from.
