I guess we'll be using the forum tags system to distinguish Steam games from PC games, etc... Which will be removed though? Will the posts be moved from PC to Steam forum, the Steam renamed and PC deleted or the other way around?

Okay so the way it's gonna work is that myself and Lorx are going to move every single thread that has ever been created in the Steam forum all the way over to the General PC Games forum, which has now been renamed "General PC and Steam". This sounds like an enormous task, but it isn't quite as time-consuming as it sounds. Afterwards, the empty shell of a Steam Forum that will be left behind will be deleted.
You'll be happy to know that Celes' header will probably be replacing that of the Gen PC forum. We gotta make ourselves at home
And forum tags will be used where necessary, yes. I'll be tagging current threads from this forum that still see activity and are directly related to Steam as I move them; however older threads won't be tagged as this just provides us with unnecessary extra work (and would take AGES).

We'll be working from the oldest threads forward, so you won't even notice anything is changing until we hit the first page maybe tomorrow.[/size][/color]

Surely there is some automated process somewhere for that.

Also, don't worry about Gen PC discussion taking over...there are way less posts there

iceguy2003 Don't worry, Gen PC is non-existent except for the odd few topics or revivals of old topics. Any time I check there there are 1-2 new topics and the rest are usually a few months or years old

No offence to Gen PC or anything but there's generally not much to chat about really. Along with the implementation of tags, it will be easy to spot the steam topics and Gen PC topics

harbin91 Things could have changed since the last time I was a mod (2008) but generally moderators have the ability to deal with individual topics or multiple topics at once. It just means going through each page and clicking a checkbox then hitting "Move" (Or generally that's how most forums do it)

That's why it's always funny to watch trouble makers because they think they are causing mods a lot of work...it's literally a 2 minute job to clean up their mess and ban them

Iceguy2003, what the others have been saying is correct. I wouldn't worry about being swamped by non-steam posts: if there had been enough activity in General PC for something like that to happen, there wouldn't have been any need for the merger in the first place :)
