Counter-Strike Source settings

I had decided to uninstall Counter Strike, to get rid of the mods I had installed. Now that I installed it again and restarted it, it doesn't save my game settings. These are the ones on graphics and screen resolution.
It also seems that some weapons have slow animations, where a 3 second reload takes double the time. Any help please?

You can lock the screen resolution for it by using the launch options (right click the game on your steam games list, it'll be in the properties menus somewhere) then use the commands like -x 1024, y-768 for 1024x768 or whatever. I may have the x and the y the wrong way around. If you need to lock the refresh rate as well use the command "-freq 100" for 100hz and so on.

As for the longer reload animations, I'm bamboozled. Try defragmenting your cache files/verifying integrity (again in the properties menu)

Lame answer but sometimes the most easy thing to do... try reinstalling it again.
