Updated addon list. Removed some stupid/pointless addons and added the newer ones that I have now on my game. Low priority addons are not needed if you want to play on my server, but I included them on this list because they are useful if you want to play singleplayer or on your own server. Medium priority addons are not needed if you want to play on my server, but they are recommended (whether you're playing on my server or not) because they generally make things easier and more enjoyable for you (you do not need all the maps since I usually only play on either Mobenix v3 or Construct, they're just for your own use). High priority addons are addons I highly recommend you download if you're going to play on my server, unless you're fine with a shitload of errors. Even so, they're very good mods and I recommend you get them regardless of whether you're joining me or doing your own thing.







And finally, some addons that I find very useful for comic making. You should also get the High Priority addons I listed if you want to make a comic.

hey im having trouble with my gmod. i downloaded it from steam and when i play it nothing has any texture. everything, excluding parts of the gm maps looks holographic. i tried downloading textures but then i realised that garrys mod isnt in my program files, can anyone help?

i dont have halflife 2 installed but i have portal..and gmod 10. im assuming portal wont cut it?

Not sure, but I think you can have any source game to play Garry's Mod.

Steam has TF2+GMOD and CSS+GMOD and HL2+GMOD packages, which further pushes my theory into fruition.

You can, but as I said, 90% of GMod is made up of HL2. You take the weapons, props, environments, even the hud from HL2. If you use it with TF2 or CS:S you'll probably only be able to play CS:S or TF2 maps without missing textures, and I'm not sure about the hud what your weapons will be.

from what your saying...it seems that downloading hl2 wont help me. but it just finished so ill test it

Edit: it still dosnt work. and i re downloaded it but for some reason it starts downloading at 94%. steam is being annoying

Alright, these are the addons I'm running on my server now. I'll mark them as required, recommended, optional, maps and models (for posing and comics).

IMPORTANT: Everything from Filesmelt.com goes directly into your C:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/[steamname]/garrysmod/garrysmod directory. Let it merge/replace. Any addons without an info.txt file also go into the above directory. BSP files go into C:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/[steamname]/garrysmod/garrysmod/maps unless they're in a folder with an info.txt file. Addons with info.txt files go into C:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/[steamname]/garrysmod/garrysmod/addons.











Now, you don't need any of these mods to join my server, not even those in Required. However, I very strongly recommend the Required ones because without them it will kinda suck for you, you will get a boatload of errors and apparently your Q menu won't work (according to some).

Now, if you're ever going to join my server make sure in the Gmod main menu you go Options>Multiplayer>Do not allow custom files from server. If you don't, you will crash the server.
