hi, im pretty new to playing games on my PC cos i have always used a console but im now begging to want & play more PC games. could you tell me of some good games i would be able to play?

Dell Dimension DIM 3000
Pentium 4 2.80ghz, 2.79ghz
256RAM
80gb harddrive

at the moment i only have rome total war but would like an RPG game.

What video card do you have?

Your rig seems pretty dated so I wouldn't expect much in light of the newest games. Of course, you can probably update it, or even purchase a new computer at a great price or even build your own depending on what your ultimate goal with your computer is.

well ive opened up my PC and there isn't one but yet i can still play games like the sims and rome toatal war.

i am thinkin of upgrading but i need to raise some cash.

Not much.

1/2 GB of RAM wouldn't set you back too much and a decent graphics card is really cheap. The question is, what RPGs do [b]youp/b] want to play? Your processor, a gig of ram and a lower end graphics card would enable you to play majority of the older RPGs. Game's like Oblivion, WoW etc, require you to invest a bit in a high(ish) end computer.

yeah i know i was lookin at gettin some Ram and a graphics card or just sell my whole PC and get a new one.

i can't beliebe i dont even have AGP slots. lol

so what old RPG's are any good then cos im new to pc gaming.

Try out Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I'm pretty sure your PC'll be able to handle it.

ive heard good things about that game but how does my pc play games without a graphics card.

It has a graphics chipset intergrated into the motherboard.

I'm assuming integrated Intel.

If you don't even have AGP ports, you probably don't have PCI-e either. Most likely PCI and that's it. That being said, any graphics card worth it's weight and worthwhile to purchase requires an additional power connection from your Power Supply Unit. I'm also assuming that you have a bone stock PSU with approx~ 300W which probably won't handle a good gfx card coupled with the rest of the system...if you even have a PCI-e slot that is.

You can probably find your PSU values on the side of the PSU itself after removing the computer's outer case.

I had a DIM2400 a few years back that was more than likely similar to yours. If my assumptions are wrong, please correct me.

I recommend upgrading to 2 gb of RAM if you wanna play any good performance based games.

Press the windows button + R at the same time, type in DXdiag, wait for the green bar to get to the end then click on save all information.

This will save as a .txt format on your computer. Open it up and scroll down to Display devices. This will list the videocard or onboard graphics card you have.

As to RPG's you can play with your current rig...hardly any on, onboard graphics...possibly Elder Scrolls I:Arena or Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall

but basically you'll be looking for RPG's made around 1990-1999 era, anything after 2000 would need a AGP graphics card and anything after 2005ish would need PCI-e
