I'm still having PSN problems. Stupid store won't add anything to the wallet. Both the SEN website, through the PS3, and through the Vita give different errors and Sony CS haven't responded to inquiry yet.

Ugh...

Warhammer's fun, albeit a short 6-7 hour campaign. The online was pretty decent at the time, had fun with it but not sure if people are still playing. They had the usual person to person connection matchmaking/lobby problems and i'm not sure if they ever worked that out before I moved on...er..back... to DCUO.

Is Infamous 2 worth playing? Tried out the first one as it was a free title due to the psn hack, but I found it pretty boring.

Well DD's ending came out of nowhere didn't it? XD

Definitely agree with you on that one. Though this has made me wonder on the negative comments the game's story received from reviewers. I understand that it could've been presented better, at least in terms of how large the gaps were between story scenes due to getting distracted by sidequests and noticeboard quests. (For a bit of perspective on that, my final playtime before seeing the actual ending was something in the range of 138 hours, that includes chest farming in the Everfall and just running around enjoying the world however)

But in terms of how enjoyable what little of the story we got to see was, and the world's background lore which can be picked up on, I feel like they might have just been looking for another thing to criticise. It could've been handled better, but it's far from as bland or uninspired as they made it out to be.

Am I the only person that also got a weird Drakengard/Nier vibe from this game? Something about it reminds me of those two and I adored both.

I know exactly what you mean, I don't trust modern gaming journalists at all either, it just bugs the hell out of me that Dragon's Dogma is getting trashed on elements it really didn't handle as badly as they suggest it did. This is the whole Nier scenario all over again, a truly special experience hides beneath the surface and its getting downgraded just because of sloppy journalism. Some games take time to get good, but when they do they're almost always something special. Don't misunderstand me here, there's no disputing that both of these games can be repetitive at times, but both have elements that can quite easily bury any complaints in that regard.

From the moment I saw the first gameplay video, I knew Dragon's Dogma was my kind of game. Hell, I was excited for it the second the teaser site launched ages back. (Don't look at me like that, it had dragon in the title, that immediately gets me excited. :3 )

I'll always judge for myself these days and when I actually get off my ass and do it, I review the games myself as well.

On a side note: If Dragon's Dogma doesn't get a sequel or a copycat franchise, I'm going to flip a bitch.

This is like what happened with Demon's Souls, they tried something different, tested the waters for it and gamers loved it. A few years later and we get a continuation of that game's style that refines most of the rough edges of its first foray into the world.

Also Edit: I'd like to personally kick in the dick, every single person that has ever scored Skyrim with a 10.

I loved DD so much it took me over 100 hours to clear the game the first time and only had one vocation left to max before the end. Both my main character and pawn (All vocations maxed) are also over level 100.

I originally planned to do something similar to you, I was going to create an account or two to create a few others of my characters (and along with those some fan characters), but the game turned out to be so colossal and time-consuming that I abandoned those plans. XD

I haven't been this dedicated to, or engrossed by a game like this in years.

The only thing that's really bugging me (now that I know there's a plot somewhere in all that gameplay), is the lack of more beasties to slay. Beastiary could use another 10-20 enemy types at least. Magic also bugged me for a while, since going from fighter to magic user was nowhere near as easy it was to go from magic user to fighter.
But then I found out the L3 button had a function with some spells that let you free aim, cursor aim, or alter the trajectory of some spells.

Gee, wish From Software had thought of that...

So getting back into the whole magic shebang. Definitely harder and more time consuming to play until you get to unlocking sorcerer 'roid rage.

I've also been trying to find ways into the Gran Soren half of the map before opening the gate with the Hydra head escort mission.

Many cliff-deaths ensued.


Edit: Just saw the griffon 2 days ago. One was when randomly exiting the castle and I stumbled on some quest I must have missed. Second time was returning to the castle and it swooped down and picked off a moocow. Made me sad for the moocow. I've since stopped riding them around the greens.

Ha! I do that all the time.

I rode the cow with the hydra head. Aside from kicking it that was the only thing to do to keep sane. Especially on ng+ and everyone still goes crazy about goblins that die instantly.
