Might want to PM one of the Section Mods and ask them if it is fine to just go ahead and have an Off-topic thread. Not sure how popular it would be but it is worth a try.

I'm chilling and playing single player Mount & Blade. Probably one of the best damn games ever made for PC in my opinion. PLus there is finals week this week in my college so I got some things to keep me busy.

40 minutes later and my demo was at 14%

Hooked on Mass Effect 2 and still have yet to play Mass Effect 3. I'm happily occupied.

Yeah Love ME 2 a lot, playing my second playthrough now that I downloaded most of extra content. Basically waiting for the extended cut to release for ME 3 before I play it.

The threat was abstract in 2 and is present in 3. It sets the tone and makes the game feel more like you're rushing through to save earth rather than preparing for a mission. Essentially you're doing the same thing in both as far as goal, but the vibe in 3 is way different from two. It has to be because of the story, but at the same time it kind of pushes gamers away who try to sit down and relax.


In number 2, side quests could have nothing to do with the collecters... in number 3, EVERY is about the reapers.

I think lack of new party characters was another factor for me. You'd think that with the universe on the line SOMEONE new would volunteer. You get one new party member that has never been featured in the mass effect series and he's a boring soldier. Character development draws people in! If you no longer have to explain the characters than you are just relying on lasting attachments with characters that are suppose to be changing under the war. What you get, however, is a bunch of people reacting to the war rather than developing as personalities within the story. I think Joker and Edi has the biggest developments.
