Thoughts and Ideas for another AECA.
|
Well I have just got back into this game to improve on some of my flight training in the game. And since yesterday I have pondered on some ideas I would like for another Aero Elite. So here is what I would like to see.
TRAINING MISSIONS.
Have a couple of mid-air refuelings that require you to practice using both boom and from the buddy pack drouge line.(just like in AECA)not only would get to refuel from a KC-135,but also include the KC-10,and the KC-130.
A take-off and landing mission where you would say take off from one island air base fly out to another, and land within a certain time limit. If you reach the other base within the allotted time, you'd be given the task of taxining over to a certain location, refuel your plane, and then take-off and fly back to the base you started off from.Include this in advance training.
Include caro plane operations training where you can be trained on deliverying caro such as vehicles, supplies, and personnel from one location to another.
Practice parachute air drops onto a location, maybe include paratroops as well.
More weapons training in both air-to-air,air-to-ground, and this time include the ability to fire anti-ship missiles like the Harpoon and ASM-2.
Carrier training that requires you to start off in the T-45 Goshawk, and then advance to the F/A-18C.Also in more advance carrier training, have where you take-off from a naval air station and have to fly out to the carrier. The T-45 would be available to play in free flight as well.
Include not only training for attack helicopters, but also include transport types like the CH-53E and EH-101.
COMBAT MISSIONS.
Once you've completed all flight training(basic, primary, ACM,ect)you would then be tasked for duty and put into a real world type conflict. Here is where you will put all that you have learned in all of your flight training to the test. This mode should be used to replace the arcade mode that really wasn't all that great. Here in the Combat Mode, you will engage in both air-to-air,air-to-ground,and anti-ship missions.
Take part in close air support, fleet air defense, escort, cargo transport of vehicles, supplies, and maybe even ground troops, and whateve other type of mission possible.
Have battles that would be intense, especially in the air. Not on the scale of Ace Combat, but where you dont just shoot down two enemy planes,or a few ground targets, but enough to make it fun and realistic.
Include unarmed photo recon missions.
Earn medals for your performace in battle, maybe even include medals in the training mode as well.Even have it where you can earn rank.
How about having a few missions that take place at sea. Fly air defense for your battle group, and fly a mission or two that may require you take-off from your carrier, do a mission, and then return back for a landing.
Even have where on some missions, you may be required to return to base to rearm. You may also be tasked at doing some refueling both returning to base, and heading back into battle.
AERO MEET.
I'd like to have this option again, but the challenges a bit more challenging and a wide variety.
SCRAMBLE ALERTS.
Yes!,Yes!,and Yes! to having this again.Have some scrambles that could turn out alot more hostile than in AECA. For example, you'd fly out to intercept a unknown target and either do a photo/warning,or warning shot only. But then like before you are cleared to engage once it becomes clear the unknown is hostile. After shooting down the first, you could say get a warning to quickly return to base to refuel and rearm, then head back to deal with another air or even a threat from sea or on the ground.Well its a thought.
AIRCRAFT.
Okay,I would not only like to see again the same ones in the pervious game, but include these as well. FIXED WING TYPES.
F/A-22. F-35(All varients) F-117A. F/A-18E/F. Eurofighter Typhoon. Rafale M for carrier use,and the C/D for AirForce. Super Etendard. Mig-31. Su-30/33.Include the naval varient. C-130J. C-17A. An-70. JAS-39 Gripen. JA-37 Viggen.
ROTORY WING TYPES.
AH-1Z. V-22 Osprey. CH-53E. EH-101. AS 665 Tiger. Mi-28 Havoc. Ka-50/52. CH-47E/F.
Well that's all for now,but these are some of the ideas I have at this time.

Fix the rudders. They don't do jack when in plane/jet. Also, get rid of the cruddy dreamcast shade filter. Then, put in an online mode at least. All of the above sounds good too.
Splitscreen co-op instant action missions would be good too. Playing head to head on the sea level gets old quick.

A variety of two-player map locations is for sure needed.I agree that playing on the same and olny map for head-to-head does indeed get quite boaring.
Online capability.....Yes.
Rudders to need to be fixed, though they work, they dont work as good as they should. And when trying to correct your heading using them, they are very sluggish.

Also,if you're going to include guided missile destroyers like the Sovremnny's in AECA,they're guns are the only defenses that fire at you. They do have SAMs on board.....they should use them.
As for removing the Arcade mode, that's why I suggested a combat mode. After going through all of the rigerous training missions, you are then given the opportunity to put all your skills to the test.A sort of campaign mode that would include a variety of combat senarioes that include all those things I mentioned in the opening of this thread.
Also in the free flight mode, when you choose either dogfight or ground attack, you should have more than two enemy aircraft to deal with, and there should also be enemy aircraft available to engage when doing ground attacks. At least the option to choose air opisition.
Online capability should be avaiable for those who are dying to play. Also a much better head-to-head and two player capability where you can either fight against a friend,or co-op together in combat.

Definitely. Having one player tackle ground forces while the other provides air cover, or both taking on a bit of both would add much replay value to it, instantly.
I'd also like to see custom emblems, like the Armored Core games let you create (basically pixel by pixel, color by color.), if not being able to edit the majority of the paintscheme of the craft as is. That would bring a whole level of customization to the online ace frontier.

ONLINE PLAY
AECA is a continuation of the Aerodancing series that started on Dreamcast. One of the Aerodancing games,Aerodancing i,had online play.

If they could get online play on Aerodancing i,they should be able to get it for AECA2.

I like all the ideas here. Particularly the rudder issues. Would definitely like more authority with them. Decreasing with increased speed.
The C-17 would be awesome to have in the game too.
Co-op missions online would be fantastic. Imagine coming back to base for a formation landing too.
Too cool.

REARMING AND REUELING.
I think it would be neat to have the ability to rearm and refuel whether it be on a carrier or air base. For instance, using East Island as an example, upon landing say after a skirmish with three enemy fighters and the possibilty of more incursions, why not have a location marked out at the base where you taxi your aircraft to arm it,and another to refuel.
Then you take-off again and now you're ready to deal with whatever other threats that may be inbound.

Absolutely, Mike. Who says a scramble mission has to end after you've shot down an incomming bomber. you could taxi in and rearm and the scramble siren goes off while you're rearming and refueling and off you go.
