Overspeed and area limits screw me over

i havent the most i got to is mach 1.8 and then i get the area restiction.

i finnally got to mach 2.167 Thats right biatch

how do you get it?

Alright, i just popped this game back in the PS2 a couple days ago.

afterburner limit is 50000 feet i believe...

alright, keep doing scrambles until you get a fast fighter that's capable of Mach 2. Some that come to mind are the F-4 and MiG-21 (I used the MiG 21 cuz I was 100% positive it could fly Mach 2 in real life) I'm not sure how many can do it in the game.

Anyways, when you take off, head a diagonal direction (ie southwest), Take your plane to about 40000 feet, then when you see the border show up on your radar, make a 180 and fly directly away from the corner.

Light the burners and raise your altitude to between 49500 and 50000 (don't get too close to 50000 or your afterburners shut off).

Fly straight.

You'll break Mach 2 eventually.

OR.... lol ... you can do it this way:

In the Bay stage (the one with the ferris wheel), land on the main road in the city. make sure you're lined up straight, hit the afterburners and push nose down as you accelerate. You'll stay on the ground. Your "overspeed" limiter will never kick in until you leave the ground.... and the road is straight and goes on forever. You hit some outrageous speeds.

Yes, many have told me to do that, but it always seems to stop at Mach 1.39. Which plane is ideal for this strategy?

Ah, yes.... The F-104 or F-14 are good. But, since it's been a while since I've owned the game, I now recall that during that 'ride', it may have only showed Mach 1.3* ... but after you finish, it'll show your plane reached Mach 2. The recollection is a bit foggy.

If I get the chance to play it again any time soon, I'll have to reveisit that.

Well, I dunnae think it matters anymore, because I just recieved my F-104 S-fighter just a couple days ago. Just had to set the game physics to Pro, then I oversped exactly at Mach 2.

Yes I have before the game shark 2 deleted my game data now I cant do it any more:(.

S'what you get for using Gamesharks. I like to go clean when I play flight games. Besides, I don't have any other options; my PS2 doesn't take Gamesharks.

Nothing much - there's an infinite ammo cheat that works for missiles, for about 9 uses, then it stops shooting. Glitchy.
