I am so freakin excited!! This game has great potential for the ps2. I hope they dont screw it up like they did with fallout tactics. Id really like to see a return to the game play of the first two fallout games.

How you think they well pull this off? I mean, it's a game designed for the computer. Unless there is a mouse and keyboard adapter out. This might cause many troubles with gameplay.

re: A dream come true!!!

Actually, if Im not mistaken there are adaptors that will connect the ps2 to a mouse and keyboard...but you are right, there is no way they would set it up to require the use of those. There is enough buttons on the controller and the analog sticks make for pretty smooth movement.

I just notcied IGN has some decent info on the game....it says the release date is october of this year. Also says they made it more combat orientated compared to the rpg style of the pc games. The screens look good, and the view looks the same as the previous games. I hope the gore is as good as before....nothing like blowing a hole in someones side, or shooting body parts off with the combat shotgun

re: A dream come true!!!

According to Gamespot hands on it is going to be like Balder's Gate which I really, really enjoyed and from the screenshots it looks like this game will be just as entertaining.

Yet another potentially great ps2 game to add to my ever increasing wish list!

re: A dream come true!!!

Well... I have mixed feelings about this game now!

For one thing... I'm not calling it Fallout anymore because it clearly does not resemble anything of what made fallout great. Watch the E3 movies of this game... the guy runs around blasting everything in front of him. There is no talking, no strategy, no skill... just a KILL EVERYONE approach!

In other words, they are exactly right. It resembles Balur's Gate: Dark Alliance in every way. Just replace the mage with a BOS initiate, the dungeons with a post apocalyptic wasteland and the skeletal and demon enemies with mutants, ghouls and raiders.

Does that make for a good game? Possibly yes, I don't know. But it's just not Fallout

re: A dream come true!!!

I can agree with all the criticism for this game but... since were not gonna be looking at a Fallout 3 anytim soon I say anyone who would like to see that game should buy Fallout:BoS just to let interplay know that there is a big enough fanbase for another Fallout RPG

re: A dream come true!!!

pretty cool having a multiplayer feature, though I doubt even with that the game will hold up to the timeless Fallout 2. From what I read, you can't even create your own dude >_<

It's a shame to see the Fallout name stray so far from the genre.... they should just follow Bioware and make a 3rd person rpg a la Knights of the Old Republic (dope *bleep*ing game if you liked fallout btw).

re: A dream come true!!!

i just bought this game, phew its nothing like the other two Fallouts, You can do jobs and such but you dont have much freedom compared to Fallout 2. Kill stuff, collect "caps" (money), weapons, its not turn based but its still an all around pretty good game.

Hey, good to see you here too (I'm in the DII Exp. forum). I still haven't had the chance to play this new Fallout, but I played most of Fallout 2 and liked the free roaming in that game.
