From Software may be widely known in North America as the Dark Souls team, but in Japan if you refer to them as anything other than the demigods behind Armored Core they will slap your face. Thus, Japan recently rose in celebration at the announcement of Armored Core: Verdict Day, which today has also been announced for North America and Europe. It's like Armored Core V, only it mechs harder than ever.
Technically, what I mean by "mechs harder than ever" is that Verdict Day will have more mech upgrades, a robust AI system in place to support solo players, and a new matchmaking system to help players get into games faster than ever. I tried to play Armored Core V by myself, it was rather abysmal, so hopefully the new features improve that experience.
Armored Core: Verdict Day is tentatively scheduled for release in September in Japan, and "summer" for North America which I believe means September but maybe October worst case. The sequel will be coming to both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Also, it'll use all your save date from Armored Core V! So stick with the same platform you used before. Also, mechs. Mechs.
